Determination or definition of the indentation (deflection/deformation) and settling characteristics of flexible floor carpet assemblies (

3、carpet, mass back and insulation), especially in the foot well, foot rest and rocker-surrounding areas, caused by the application of a static force. 1.2 Foreword. Floor Carpet Insulators are acoustically absorbent substances that possess a certain yield under load. An incorrect specification of the

On the other hand, an increased insulator deflection along the rocker-surrounding area may increase the risk for the overlapped carpet

Therefore it is extremely important to examine these floor insulation materials and determine their flexibility, compression and indentation characteristics. 1.3 Applicability. This

The carpet insulator materials include, but are not limited to, foam, fiber (dissipative carpet constructions) and cotton shoddy. In addition, this specification applies to floor carpet assemblies w

The deformation in mm is related to the indentation characteristics of the test sample, when th

The maximum immediate deformation allowed is 9 mm. 4.3.3 Without removing the test load, and after 60 minutes, a further deformation measurement is taken and recorded as “Deformation after 60 minutes in mm” (see Appendix A). The maximum deformation allowed after 60 minutes is 9 mm

21、 4.3.4 The permanent settling is the deformation seen by the test specimen after a stress-relief period of 60 minutes. The permanent settling characteristic of the test specimen is measured after removing the test load and providing a stress-relief period of 60 minutes, and should be recorded in th
