Materials approved to this specification include compression molded and moldable composite materials. 1.1.1 Phenolic resin based materials are not allowed for interior applications. 1.1.2 Injection molded thermoplastic materials are not covered by this specification. Materials intended for
3、this specification are normally processed by compression thermoforming. 1.1.3 Materials intended to be used in substrate applications must also meet the assembly performance requirements per GMW14444 as assembled. 1.2 Symbols. 6、 Data. Lab testing is to be performed by a laboratory that conforms to ISO 17025 and is acceptable to the customer (GM). Test reports must conform to ISO 17025 sections 5.10.2 and 5.10.3. 3.1.2 Standard Conditions (GMW3221). All test specimens shall be conditioned to GMW3221, Code A, unless the test
7、 method indicates that standard conditioning is not required. Condition the specimens for a minimum of 24 h prior to testing or until moisture equilibrium is reached. If specimens are tested outside the conditioned environment, they shall be tested within ten minutes of removal. 3.1.3 Sampling and T
8、est Specimen Preparation. For directional properties, samples shall be reported with machine direction and against machine direction. All test specimens shall be taken from the area beyond the initial 2 m of production and at least 50 mm from either selvage edge. Prepare test specimens as required i
9、n the respective test method. 3.1.4 Data Reporting. If all individual readings of a specific test meet or exceed the specified requirements, report the average. Unless otherwise stated, any individual reading outside the specified limit does not meet the requirement. Report all individual test resul
10、ts that do not meet the requirements. All required information shall be reported on the appropriate test data reporting forms (Appendix A). Any additional test requirements shall be provided to GM upon request (i.e., high speed stress strain and compression curves for computer simulation). 3.2 Const
11、ruction Requirements for Substrate. All testing shall be conducted on a formed part at ideal thickness for physical properties without facing material. Report values in Appendix A. 3.2.1 Weight (GMW3182). Test three specimens and report the average in g/m2 for the substrate weight. Acceptable produc
12、tion tolerances shall be 10% the specified nominal substrate weight. Any deviation must be agreed to by appropriate GM engineer. Refer to the construction sheet for weight specifications. 3.2.2 Thickness (ISO 5084). Report the average for three specimens without facing material, in Provided by IHSNo

Use a 2.0 N load and a 50.5 mm diameter presser foot to a
14、chieve a pressure of 1.0 kPa. All readings should be taken after the presser foot has been in contact with the material for at least 5 s. Refer to the construction sheet for thickness. 3.2.3 Flexural Properties (ISO 178). Test five specimens in the machine and against machine direction for nominal t
15、hickness without facing material. Test speed 50 mm/minutes, 100 mm span, 5 mm support radius, and sample size 75 mm by 200 mm. Report flexural strength (maximum force over first 25 mm of deflection), flexural stiffness (initial slope of flexural curve), and flexural toughness (percent retention of m
16、aximum force compared to force at 25 mm) averages on construction sheet. Submit flexural stress strain curve. 3.2.4 Fogging (GMW3235, Method B). Report the average of three specimens. The weight change of the used aluminum foil shall be no greater than 1.5 mg. The bath temperature shall be 90 C. 3.2
17、.5 Flammability (GMW3232). Test as received and after aging. Report Bmax and Bstat requirement must be less than 100 mm/minute. 3.2.6 Odor (GMW3205). Report both wet and dry results Coding A and B, Rating of 6 minimum. Use a ratio of specimen size to container size of 1 to 50. 3.2.7 Mildew (GMW3259)
18、. Required only if natural fibers are present in the construction. There shall be no visible growth or odor of mildew. 3.2.8 Cantilever Sag (GMW16190). Test three specimens in machine direction and three specimens against machine direction. Specimen size is 75 mm by 300 mm. Secure fixed side in flat
19、 plate and tighten with no more than 25 mm of length secured. Measure the initial height of sample at the end of sample opposite fixed end. Measure the height of sample at the end after minimum of 24 h at 85 C. Report change in height after 24 h at 85 C. Each sample should be individually supported.
20、 3.2.9 Moisture Content (GMW14777). Substrates that are susceptible to moisture should be tested to 30 minutes (Code A). Moisture content must be 8% by mass. Water absorption must be 40% by mass. Thickness swell must be 40% by mass. 3.3 Color Requirements. As defined by requirements of facing materi
21、al specification. 3.4 Part Requirements. Requirements of GMW14444 plus below requirements on formed parts with facing material. Additionally, any component testing, such as knee load testing, shall be evaluated prior to approval. 3.4.1 Weight (GMW3182). Test three specimens and report the average. R
22、eport the average in g/m2 for the substrate weight. Acceptable production tolerances shall be 10%, the specified nominal substrate weight. Any deviation must be agreed to by appropriate GM Engineer. Refer to the construction sheet for weight specifications. 3.4.2 Thickness (ISO 5084). Report the ave
23、rage for three specimens with facing material, in millimeters to the nearest 0.1 mm. Use a 2.0 N load and a 50.5 mm diameter presser foot to achieve a pressure of 1.0 kPa. All readings should be taken after the presser foot has been in contact with the material for at least 5 s. Refer to the constru
24、ction sheet for thickness. 3.4.3 Flexural Properties (ISO 178). Test five specimens in the machine and against machine direction for nominal thickness with facing material. Test speed 50 mm/minutes, 100 mm span, 5 mm support radius, and sample size 75 mm by 200 mm. Report flexural strength (maximum
25、force over first 25 mm of deflection), flexural stiffness (initial slope of flexural curve), and flexural toughness (percent retention of maximum force compared to force at 25 mm) averages on construction sheet. 28、uidelines provided by material source must be followed by molder. The molder must also show process control in all areas associated with Appendix B. All deviations to material source guidelines must be documented in drawing/math notes by Engineering Work Order. 4.4 Part Performance/Processability. A
29、ll materials covered by this specification are subject to part performance testing through part validation. All materials must satisfy applicable laws, rules, regulations and recomme
31、ndations valid in the country of usage. 5.2 Language. In the event of conflict between the English and domestic language, the English language shall take precedence. 5.3 Inspection and Rejection. Samples of components or materials released to a GM material specification shall be tested for conformit
32、y with the requirements of this material specification and approved by the responsible Engineering department prior to commencement of delivery of bulk supplies. A new approval must be received for any changes, e.g., properties, manufacturing process, location of manufacture, etc. If not otherwise a
33、greed, all testing and documentation normally required for initial release must be completed. It is the responsibility of the supplier to inform the customer in a timely manner, without solicitation, and to include documentation of all modifications of materials and/or processes and to apply for a n
34、ew release. If not otherwise agreed, all release tests shall be repeated and documented by the supplier prior to commencement of delivery of non-conforming bulk supplies. In individual cases, a shorter test can be agreed to between the responsible Engineering department and the supplier. 5.4 Initial
35、 Source Approval. No shipments shall be made by any supplier until representative initial production samples have been approved by the appropriate Materials Engineering department(s) as meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.5 Material Safety Data Sheets/Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS). For
36、 new product submissions, or when a change in chemical composition of an existing product has occurred, a complete copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet must be submitted in compliance with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) requiremen
37、ts or other country-specific MSDS/SDS requirements. In addition, product MSDS/SDS submissions must be in compliance with specific country General Motors TMC003 Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet guidance documents where available. 5.6 All materials supplied to this standard must comply wit
38、h the requirements of GMW3059, Restricted and Reportable Substances for Parts. 5.7 Recycling Guidelines for GMW3116. All materials developed to this specification shall be optimized to provide maximum end-of-life cycle value utilizing the Vehicle Recyclability/ Recoverability Calculation Sheet. Recy
39、cled content shall be reported to the approving and procuring Materials Engineering Department utilizing the Part Recyclability/Recoverability GMW3116 Appendix A Report Form. 6 Approved Sources Engineering qualifications of an approved source are required for this standard. Only sources listed in th
40、e GM Materials File (i.e., MATSPC) under this standard number have been qualified by Engineering as meeting the requirements of this standard. For other GM locations, the responsible Engineering group should be contacted to obtain the approved source in that individual country. For each approved sou
