9、 As defined in Section 4 of this standard. 3.5 Data. The results recorded during the tests shall be analyzed and included in the test report per the referenced procedure or Subsystem Technical Specification (SSTS). 3.6 Safety. This standard may involve hazardous materials, operations, and equipment.

10、 This standard does not propose to address all the safety problems associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. 3.7 Documentation. Samples of

11、 components or material released to this standard shall be tested for conformity with the requirements of this standard and approved by the responsible GM Department prior to the start of delivery of production level components or materials. Any change to the component or material, e.g., design, fun

12、ction, properties, manufacturing process and/or location of manufacture requires a new release of the product. It is the sole responsibility of the supplier to provide the customer, unsolicited, with documentation of any change or modification to the product/process, and to apply for a new release.

13、If not otherwise agreed to, the entire verification test shall be repeated and documented by the supplier prior to start of delivery of the modified or changed product. In some cases, a shorter test can be agreed to between the responsible GM department and the supplier. 3.7.1 Test Results. As defin

14、ed in Section 4 of this standard. 3.7.2 Deviations from Test Procedure. Deviations from the test procedures shall have been agreed upon. Such requirements shall be specified on component drawings, test certificates, reports, etc. 4 Requirements and Procedure 4.1 General. The heating units and air co

15、nditioning units shall fulfill the requirements according to GMW14780. 4.2 Color. All components visible in the vehicle (passenger compartment) shall be black. 4.3 Fastening of Levers. The levers shall be securely fastened to the valves. The pull-off force shall be 200 N (minimum) and 500 N (maximum

16、) if press forced levers are used. In the case of positive coupled levers, easy assembly and disassembly shall be guaranteed. There is no play permissible between lever and axis. 4.4 Play at Bearings. The movement at the levers shall not exceed 0.5 mm at the point of force application when valves ar

17、e locked (temperature and mode valves). This shall be measured in plane of actuation with an effort of 5 N in both directions. 4.5 Water Drainage, Condensate. It shall be guaranteed that condensate can drain from the climate unit, if the vehicle is tilted 28 cm (11 in) in a longitudinal and/or trans

18、verse direction. Condensate shall not be trapped within the case. 4.6 Water Carryover. No water (drops, fog, steam, or mist) shall escape from the air outlets when the blower is operated at high speed. When the vehicle is tilted 15 in any direction, no condensate shall escape from the air conditioni

19、ng unit. Test according to GMW3055. 4.7 Condensate Build-up. On the outside of components of heating and air conditioning units, no condensate build-up is permitted at (30 1) C and (80 1)% relative humidity. The test is in accordance with GMW3052. 4.8 Functional Test. 4.8.1 Heating Performance and A

20、ir Outlet Temperature. The measurements shall be performed on an assembled Heating unit or HVAC unit under the test conditions in Table 1. The temperature door/valve will be closed by the control head. A closing effort of 5 N (maximum) is to be input at the control head (no permanent load at control

21、 head). Requirements for heater performance or air outlet temperature are in drawings or SSTS documents. Test according to GMW15922. 4.8.3 Heat Pick-up. With the temperature valve in full cold position, the increase of air temperature between the air

24、inlet and air outlet shall meet requirements in all possible modes: HVAC unit: 2 C maximum differential. Heating unit with water shut-off valve: 1 C maximum differential. Test conditions from paragraph 4.8.1 are applied. The temperature valves are to be closed by the control unit. In case of manual

25、actuation, there may be no force remaining at the control unit. 4.8.4 Airflow Distribution (Balancing). The airflow distribution requirements of the Heating unit or HVAC unit are defined in the HVAC system or HVAC module SSTS. Table 2 should be completed using the values found in the SSTS. Table 2:

Minimum HVAC Airflow Quantities are defined with 12 V applied to blower (Bench Test per GMW14782), with all filters installed in the module (must use highest pressure drop filter for the program), and at any recirculation air mixture ratio. The airflow test must also be run at 6 V, 8

31、V, 10 V, and 14 V applied to the blower (brush type and brush less type). The airflow measurement devices shall be connected at the air outlets. 4.8.5 Measurement of Cooling Capacity. The cooling capacity of the air conditioning unit (with blower) shall be measured at the test conditions in Table 3

32、(R134a) and Table 4 (HFO 1234yf). Requirements for cooling capacity or air outlet temperature are in drawings or SSTS documents. 37、l Device. The valve effort shall be light and uniform over complete range of travel. The required effort to move the valves (measured at the Bowden cable attachment point in direction of travel) shall be less than 5 N in a temperature range between -20 C and +90 C. 4.9.2 With Control Device. The req

38、uirements are indicated in drawings and the SSTS. 4.10 Mobile Seals. Mobile seals (e.g., valve seals) shall not drag along the case walls. 4.11 Noise Test. Heating unit or air conditioning unit with control head and blower assembly shall not cause any objectionable noise like rattling, scraping, squ

39、eaking, whistling or hissing. Same applies to the valve movement. Therefore, the valve stops shall be noise dampened. No airborne noises caused by air leaks are permitted in any possible valve positions and blower speeds. The heating unit or air conditioning unit with air inlet and blower housing sh

40、all be positioned as installed in vehicle. The twisting amplitude results from the maximum vehicle installation tolerance. The direction of force is coincident with the screw axis. During this test, all valv

42、es are moved 10 times from stop to stop. No noise such as creaking, scraping, rustling, or squeaking may occur. The measurement of the sound pressure level shall be performed to GMW14482. A subjective evaluation is required as well. Review SSTS documents or drawings for requirements. 4.12 Heater Cor

43、e Mounting and Evaporator Mounting. Heater core and evaporator shall be mounted air tight and noise insulated to the heating module respectively air conditioning unit. The fastening shall be strong enough to withstand an effort of 150 N in direction of heat exchanger pipes. The fastening shall be st

44、rong enough to withstand an effort of 75 N in any other possible direction. Isolation may be required, see GM Best Practices. The supplier shall work with the GM Engineer to comprehend the design guidelines documented in GM Best Practices. 4.13 Durability Testing. 4.13.1 Module Including Control Uni

45、t. Heating unit or air conditioning unit assembled with control head to be positioned and installed as in vehicle (including blower and heater core connected to operating coolant circuit). Test conditions: Closed coolant circuit with a minimum pressure of 120 kPa gauge pressure. Water/glycol mixture

46、 according to requirements in Table 5. Table 5: Test Conditions Coolant Temperature: (120 3) C Coolant Flow: (600 60) L/h Blower Speed: One step below maximum at blower switch at 13.2 V terminal voltage for 60 000 cycles Deviations are indicated in drawings and the SSTS. Information about actuating

47、forces and pull-off forces are defined in drawings and the SSTS. One (1) Cycle is defined as: All control buttons of the control head are actuated two times in order that each actuating function is activated and deactivated. 4.13.2 Module without Control Unit. If complete assembly as described above

48、 is not available (control head), 60 000 cycles shall be completed as well, however, a push-/pull effort of 5 N to be applied to the valve levers. 4.13.3 Requirements. After completion of the test, the heating unit or air conditioning unit shall fulfill all specified requirements. 5 Provisions for S
