None 2.3 Additional References. None. 3 Resources 3.1 Facilities. Must be able to maintain an ambient room temperatu
4、re of 21 C 5 C. 3.2 Equipment. 3.2.1 Environmental chamber capable of temperatures from -40 C to 110 C 2 C continuous. Note: Chamber must be large enough to house the clean air duct and air cleaner assembly. 3.2.2 Vacuum source capable of maintaining a 15 kPa static vacuum at 0.55 g/second flow rate
5、. 3.2.3 Flow meter capable of measuring airflow rates from 0.01 g/second to 2.0 g/second with 0.01 g/second resolution. 3.2.4 Barometer to measure room conditions. 3.2.5 Thermometer to measure room conditions. 3.2.6 Relative Humidity Indicator to measure room conditions. 3.2.7 Solid plug/plate to re
6、present the throttle body/turbo compressor inlet at minimum dimensions. Plug/plate shall have a nipple to connect a vacuum source. 3.2.8 Solid plug/plate to represent the inlet air duct connection to the air cleaner. 3.3 Test Vehicle/Test Piece. Not applicable. 3.4 Test Time. Calendar time: 6 days (

8、equired Information. Minimum torque specifications for fasteners attaching the air cleaner cover to housing. Minimum torque specifications for any clamps used in the assembly. 3.6 Personnel/Skills. Not applicable. 4 Procedure 4.1 Preparation. 4.1.1 Attach clean air duct to air cleaner assembly. 4.1.
9、2 Install plug/nipple assembly into the throttle body/turbo inlet end of the clean air duct. 4.1.3 Torque the clamp screws on the clean air duct to the minimum torque specification. 4.1.4 Remove air inlet duct if necessary. 4.1.5 Install and seal the plug into inlet of air cleaner. Plug/seal any dra
10、in holes. 4.1.6 Torque the threaded fasteners used to hold the air cleaner cover to housing to the minimum torque specification. 4.1.7 Attach any additional hoses to air cleaner or clean air duct where ports are provided (Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV), Secondary Air Injection (SAI), etc.) and
11、 plug/seal the open ends. 4.2 Conditions. 4.2.1 Environmental Conditions. Record barometer, temperature and relative humidity. 4.2.2 Test Conditions. Deviations from the requirements of this standard shall have been agreed upon. Such requirements shall be specified on component drawings, test certif
12、icates, reports, etc. 4.3 Instructions. 4.3.1 Attach vacuum source to nipple on plug. 4.3.2 At room ambient, apply a VAC kPa vacuum 0.1 kPa and measure the leak rate. Note: VAC kPa vacuum is the air induction system static flow restriction at maximum air flow rate +5.0 kPa. Reference the Air Inducti
13、on program specific Subsystem Technical Specification (SSTS). 4.3.3 Install air cleaner/duct assembly into environmental chamber in the as installed in vehicle position, raise temperature to 110 C 2 C and maintain for 100 hours. 4.3.4 While assembly is still in the chamber and heated to 110 C 2 C, a
14、pply VAC kPa vacuum 0.1 kPa and measure leak rate. 4.3.5 Lower temperature to -40 C 2 C at an appropriate rate. Maintain parts at this temperature for two (2) hours. 4.3.6 Apply VAC kPa vacuum 0.1 kPa and measure leak rate. Do not disassemble. Verify that there is no permanent damage to the parts. 4
15、.3.7 If leak rate exceeds requirement, then raise temperature to -28 2 C at an appropriate rate. Maintain parts at this temperature for two (2) hours. 4.3.8 Apply VAC kPa vacuum 0.1 kPa and measure leak rate. 4.3.9 Remove assembly from chamber and let cool to ambient. Once parts have reached room am
16、bient, maintain parts at ambient for two (2) hours. 4.3.10 Apply VAC kPa vacuum 0.1 kPa and measure leak rate. 4.3.11 Simulate servicing the air filter. Remove air filter assembly from air cleaner, then reinstall. 4.3.12 Torque the threaded fasteners used to hold the air cleaner cover to housing to
17、the minimum torque specification. 4.3.13 Apply VAC kPa vacuum 0.1 kPa and measure leak rate. Flow rates should be corrected to standard conditions: Barometer = 101.3 kPa Temperature = 21 C Leak rate = standard grams/second 5.2 Interpretation of Results. Refer to program specific SSTS. Data for the leak rates: Ambient 100 hour/110 C soak -40 C soak
19、-28 C soak (if needed) Ambient soak Ambient soak after filter service 5.3 Test Documentation. An engineering report should be generated following completion of this procedure.
