Lab testing is to be performed by a laboratory that conforms (meets requirements but may notbe formally recognized by a third party) to ISO/IEC 17025 and is acceptable to the responsible GMdepartment. Test reports must c
8、onform to ISO/IEC 17025. Supplier shall submit a letter of compliance.3.2.2 Material Construction Specification. All required information shall be reported on the CarpetConstruction Certification Data Form (see Appendix A, Data Sheet A1). The form shall be submitted along witheach carpet material su

All test specimens shall be conditioned to GMW3221,Code A for a minimu
11、m of 24 h, unless the test method indicates that standard conditioning is not required orthat other conditions apply.3.2.4 Sampling. When multiple test specimens are required, they shall be taken diagonally across the sampleso that no two test specimens overlap in the same row of yarns. Avoid taking
12、 specimens from damaged,contaminated, or defective areas caused by improper handling or manufacturing. Specimens should not be cutwithin 50 mm of any edge of the specimen.3.2.5 Data Reporting If all individual readings of a specific test meet or exceed the specified requirements,report the average.
13、Unless otherwise stated, any individual reading outside the specified limit does not meetthe requirement. Report all individual test results that do not meet the requirements. All required informationshall be reported on the appropriate test data reporting forms (see Appendix A, Data Sheet A1 and/or
14、Appendix B, Data Sheet B1).3.2.6 Visual Evaluation of Automotive Trim (GMW6992). The color, pattern, aesthetics and other relatedqualities shall be approved by the appropriate engineering department as an acceptable match to the standardwhen viewed under conditions set forth in GMW6992. See the appr
15、opriate Construction Certification DataForm for Pattern and Finish information.3.2.7 Deviations from Defined Test Methods. Deviations from the conditions of any test method shall havebeen agreed upon between supplier and vehicle manufacturer. All deviations shall be specified on thecomponent drawing
16、s, material specifications, etc. and shall be indicated on test certificates, reports, etc.3.2.8 Documentation. Specimens of components or materials released to this specification shall be tested forconformity with the requirements of this specification and approved by the responsible GM Department
17、prior tothe start of delivery of production level components or materials. Any change to the component or material,e.g., design, function, properties, manufacturing process and/or location of manufacture requires a newrelease of the product. It is the sole responsibility of the supplier to provide t
18、he customer, unsolicited, withdocumentation of any change of modification to the product/process, and to apply for a new release. If nototherwise agreed to the entire verification test shall be repeated and documented by the supplier prior to startof delivery of the modified or changed product. In s
19、ome cases a shorter test can be agreed to between theresponsible GM Department and the supplier.3.3 Construction Requirements.3.3.1 Weight (GMW3182). Test three specimens. Report the results in gram per square meter. Refer to theCarpet Construction Certification Data Form (see Appendix A, Data Form
20、A1) for weight specificationrequirements.3.3.2 Pile Height. Refer to the Carpet Construction Certification Data Form (see Appendix A, Data Form A1)for pile height specifications.3.3.3 Thickness (ISO 5084). Refer to the Carpet Construction Certification Data Form (see Appendix A, DataForm A1). Report
21、 the average for three specimens in millimeters to the nearest 0.01 mm. Use a 4.0 N load anda 200 mm 0.8 mm diameter presser foot to achieve a pressure of 0.127 kPa. All readings should be takenafter the presser foot has been in contact with the material for at least 5 s. The specimens shall be100 m
22、m x 100 mm size.3.3.4 Breaking Load (GMW3010, Code A). Test six specimens; three specimens from the Machine Direction(MD) and another three from the Cross Machine direction (CMD).x Floor 310 N minimum3.3.5 Trouser Tear Strength (ISO 13937-2). Test six specimens; three specimens from the MD and anoth
23、erthree from the CMD. Electronic method of calculation shall be used.x Floor 50 N minimum3.3.6 Resistance to Cracking from Bending at Cold Temperature (GMW14108). Cut four specimensapproximately 250 mm x 250 mm. Oven age two specimens for 336 h at 93 C 2 C. Expose specimens faceside down during the
24、entire oven exposure. For “as-received” testing and after aging, condition specimens fora minimum of 24 h to the requirements of GMW3221, Code A before cold temperature exposure. Condition allfour specimens at -30 C for a minimum of 4 h. One as-received specimen shall be wrapped around a 75 mmdiamet
25、er mandrel so that the face side is in contact with the mandrel, then the backside. Non-woven, low-weight carpet for accessory
27、floor mats must betested to GMW3208 Taber abrasion test using H18 wheel, 1000 g load for 500 cycles. Three specimens pertype shall be tested according to GMW3208.A rating 6 is required for floor mats.3.3.8 Linear Abrasion (GMW14125). Non-woven carpets must meet Cycle BX2 with a rating 4.3.3.9 Odor (
28、GMW3205). Report both wet and dry results. Rating 6 is required. Use a ratio of specimen sizeto container volume of 1:50.3.3.10 Mildew (GMW3259). Required only if natural fibers are present in the construction. There shall be novisible growth or odor of mildew. See Appendix A, Data Sheet A1 to deter
29、mine if this is a requirement.3.3.11 Fogging (GMW3235 Method B). The condensable constituents value should be less the 2 mg.3.3.12 Flammability (GMW3232).3.3.12.1 After Conditioning. Immediately prior to tests, all test specimens shall be conditioned for a minimumof 24 h according to GMW3221, Code A
30、.3.3.12.2 After Aging. The test cycle shall commence with 48 h 1 h at +40 C 3 C and 95% 5% relativehumidity, followed by 168 h 1 h at +90 C 3 C and completed without interruption. Repeat the conditioningbefore testing flammability.3.3.13 Dimensional Stability (GMW4217). Test to the dry and wet metho
31、d. For both the MD and CMD, amaximum of 1.5% is allowed3.3.14 Sound Transparency (GMW14128). If a carpet is intended to be used as a speaker covering, it mustmeet this requirement.3.4 Color Requirements.3.4.1 Colorfastness to Artificial Light Xenon Arc Method. Xenon shall be performed and reported f
32、orinformation only. Any of the methods noted in Tables 1, 2 and 3 may be used. 37、oval. GM is responsible for conducting the natural weathering testing. Suppliers shall submit one A4specimen of the color-approved material to the responsible engineer at the developing region. This specimenmust be from the same lot of material that is visually approved by GM and shall be submitted
38、along with thecolor properties test sample submission package. The specimen shall be labeled “For Natural WeatheringTest” and include the suppliers name, piece number, date and GM Finish Symbol and color number. GM willadvise the supplier of compliance or lack or compliance to the requirement. The N

A rating 4 is required using the gray scale (ISO 105-A03) for staining.3.4.5 Color Crock (ISO 105-A01). A rating 4 is required using the gray scale (ISO 105-A03) for
41、 staining. Usethe “Round Finger” and ten strokes (to and fro).3.4.6 Water Spotting/Colorfastness to Water (GMW14102). Specimen size shall be 400 mm x 400 mm.Amount of water used shall be 50 ml. No penetration through the carpet when applying the water. No staining,ringing, haptic change or shrinkage
42、 allowed.3.4.7 Cleanability and Soil Resistance (GMW3402). Perform soiling and cleaning of all soiling agents listedin Table 1 of the specification GMW3402 with the exception of Codes E and L. A rating 4 is required for eachsoil and cleaner. For the evaluations, use the gray scale ISO 105-A02 and/or
43、 ISO 105-A03.3.4.8 Flammability (GMW3232).3.4.8.1 After Conditioning. Immediately prior to tests, all test specimens shall be conditioned for a minimumof 24 h according to GMW3221, Code A.3.4.8.2 After Aging. The test cycle shall commence with 48 h 1 h at +40 C 3 C and 95% 5% relativehumidity (RH),
44、followed by 168 h 1 h at +90 C 3 C and completed without interruption. Repeat 3.4.8.1before testing flammability.3.4.9 Determination of Volatile (VOC) and Semi-Volatile Organic Compound (SVOC) for Vehicle InteriorMaterials (GMW15634). Report VOC less than 150 g and SVOC less than 300 g.3.5 Laminate,
45、 Composite and Substrate Requirements. All carpet testing is to be done on molded floormats, composites or carpet material with backings intended for production.3.6 Backing Resistance to Wear (SAE J1530, Method B, WYZENBEEK). If the backside of the mat hasnubs or other types of protrusions, it must
46、meet the following requirements:Cut two samples of material of warp and fill directions and perform the wear test for 5000 cycles for backsideof the composite material against the abrading screen. The abrading screen should be a stainless steel 70X50mesh.There shall be no fracture of the nubs at the
47、 point of contact with the main flat backing. Also, there shall be nowear of the flat backing material.3.7 Bonding.
