This standard describes a test procedure to determine the adhesion (pluck resistance) of automotive moldings and emblems attached with pressure sensitive adhesive tape to test panels coated with a

4、1 External Standards/Specifications. None 2.2 GM Standards/Specifications. None 3 Resources 3.1 Facilities. 3.1.1 Calibration. The test facilities and equipment shall be in good working order and shall have a valid calibration label. 3.1.2 Alternatives. Alternative test facilities and equipment may
5、also be used. However, all measuring variables as specified in this standard shall be determined correctly with respect to their physical definition. 3.2 Equipment. 3.2.1 Apparatus. 3.2.1.1 Clamp (see sketches in Figures A1 through A6, and pictures of typical fixtures in Figures A10 and A11) jaws ma
6、y be modified to conform to a specific molding or emblem. Example is shown on Figure A7. 3.2.1.2 Tensile machine capable of controlled 60 mm/minute speed and 150 kg load. 3.2.1.3 Cold Rolled Steel panels, 100 mm 300 mm 0.90 mm, painted on one (1) side with current production exterior paint system. 9、 Sample Preparation. All samples are to be conditioned at 23 C 2 C before and during testing unless otherwise specified. 4.1.1.1 Clean the test panels with a 1:1 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and distilled water. Wipe and dry thoroughly with a clean cloth or tissue. 4.1.1.2 Prepare moldings or emblem
10、s as follows: 4.1.1.2.1 Moldings: Cut Moldings to 25 mm long sections. 4.1.1.2.2 Emblems: Use emblems as complete assembly; do not cut. 4.1.1.3 Remove the tape liner and apply molding or emblem to painted panel. Roll one (1) pass with a 9.1 kg (20 lb) roller. 4.1.1.4 Age panel and molding assemblies
11、 for 72 h at ambient temperature of 23 C 2 C prior to testing. Samples are tested as received (72 h applied to panel) and/or following environmental exposures as required by individual specifications. 4.2 Conditions. 4.2.1 Environmental Conditions. Not applicable. 4.2.2 Test Conditions. Deviations f
12、rom the requirements of this standard shall have been agreed upon. Such requirements shall be specified on component drawings, test certificates, reports, etc. 4.3 Instructions. 4.3.1 Test Procedure. 4.3.1.1 Attach the 25 mm clamp securely to the sides of moldings or emblems, as shown on Figure A8.
13、Note that clamp is centered on emblems. 4.3.1.2 Care must be exercised not to set the clamp excessively tight so as to pry up the tape initiating a peel separation, as shown on Figure A9. 4.3.1.3 Using a tensile machine with controlled speed of 60 mm/minute; attach the clamp and load at 90 degrees (
14、normal) to the panel surface. 4.3.1.4 Report the maximum load to initiate separation of the molding or emblem from the panel in Newtons (N). If the grips pull from the sample prior to adhesive separation, report the load in Newtons at which the grips pull from the sample. 5 Data 5.1 Calculations. No
