2、terial Description. 1.1.1 Type 1. Continuous polyester monofilament zipper elements with texturized polyester tape construction, or approved equivalent. 1.1.2 Type 2. Zippers with elements made of aluminum 5056 with black baked enamel finish, W25A-848 or approved equivalent. Tape construction to be
3、100% texturized polyester or approved equivalent. Note: Type 2 strength requirements 3.2.3 and 3.2.6 also apply to light and medium duty zippers for armrest or headrest applications (see 3.2.10, Table 2 and 3.2.11). 1.1.3 Type 3. 6、Test Specimens. 3.1.1 Standard Conditions (GMW3221-A). All test specimens shall be conditioned to GMW3221 Code A, unless the test method indicates that standard conditioning is not required. If specimens are tested outside of the conditioned environment, they shall be tested within 10 minutes of rem
7、oval. Unless otherwise specified, the material shall be tested under standard conditions, 21 C 2 C and 50% 5% relative humidity (RH). 3.1.2 Deviation from Defined Test Methods. Deviations from the conditions of any test method shall be agreed upon between supplier and vehicle manufacturer. All devia
8、tions shall be specified on the component drawings, material specifications, and Statement of Requirements and shall be indicated as such on test certificates and reports. Samples of components or material released to this specification shall be tested for conformity
10、with the requirements of this specification and approved by the responsible GM department prior to the start of delivery of production level materials. 3.2 Construction and Color Requirements. These requirements describe the initial testing to be completed when a new zipper construction is being con
11、sidered. 3.2.1 Width (ISO 2589). Report the average for three specimens in millimeters to the nearest 0.01 mm. 3.2.2 Length (ISO 2589). Report the average for three specimens in millimeters to the nearest 0.01 mm. 3.2.3 Chain Crosswise Strength (ASTM D2061). Type 1 765 N minimum Type 2 445 N minimum

14、on Specification data sheet (Appendix A, Data Sheet A1) or by approving region. The requirement is four or better per ISO 105-A02 grey scale for color change. A noticeable value (lightness) and/or chroma (saturation) change with minimum hue change is acceptable. Polystyrene reference plastic or blue
15、 wool is to be used to verify the Xenon arc apparatus. 3.2.8.1 Xenon Method ISO 105-B06, Condition 5. See Table 1. 19、of lateral and longitudinal forces to the chain. A Clamp for closed end of slide fastener. B Clamp for open end of slide fastener. C Sample slide fastener. D Holding pin. A sample 254
26、 mm in length is steamed and allowed to dry in an oven at 80 C for 2 h. The maximum shrinkage allowed is 3%. Report the average fog number for three spec
28、imens. The weight change of the used aluminum foil shall be no greater than 2 mg. The bath temperature is to be +90 C. 3.2.15 Odor (GMW3205). Report both wet and dry results. A rating of 6 is required. Use a ratio of specimen size to container volume of 1:100. 3.2.16 Flammability (GMW3232). The resu
29、lts shall be reported in the GMW3232 format. 3.2.16.1 After Conditioning. Immediately prior to tests, all test specimens shall be conditioned for a minimum of 24 h according to GMW3221, Code A. 3.2.16.2 After Aging. The test cycle shall commence with 48 h 1 h at +40 C 3 C and 95% 5% RH, followed by
30、168 h 1 h at +90 C 3 C and completed without interruption. 4 Manufacturing Process Not applicable. 5 Rules and Regulations 5.1 Legal Regulations. All materials must satisfy applicable laws, rules, regulations and recommendations valid in the country of usage. 5.2 Language. In the event of conflict b
31、etween the English and domestic language, the English language shall take precedence. 5.3 Inspection and Rejection. Samples of components or materials released to a GM material specification shall be tested for conformity with the requirements of this material specification and approved by the respo
32、nsible Engineering department prior to commencement of delivery of bulk supplies. A new approval must be received for any changes, e.g., properties, manufacturing process, location of manufacture, etc. If not otherwise agreed, all testing and documentation normally required for initial release must
33、be completed. It is the responsibility of the supplier to inform the customer in a timely manner, without solicitation, and to include documentation of all modifications of materials and/or processes and to apply for a new release. If not otherwise agreed, all release tests shall be repeated and doc
34、umented by the supplier prior to commencement of delivery of non-conforming bulk supplies. In individual cases, a shorter test can be agreed to between the responsible Engineering department and the supplier. 5.4 Material Safety Data Sheets/Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS). For new product submissions,
35、 or when a change in chemical composition of an existing product has occurred, a complete copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet must be submitted in compliance with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) requirements or other country-speci
36、fic MSDS/SDS requirements. In addition, product MSDS/SDS submissions must be in compliance with specific country General Motors TMC003 Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet guidance documents where available. 5.5 All materials supplied to this standard must comply with the requirements of GMW
37、3059, Restricted and Reportable Substances for Parts. 6 Approved Sources Materials supplied to this specification must be approved by General Motors. The appropriate GM Materials Engineering department(s) must confirm material as meeting the requirements of this specification. Any test data sheets o
38、f material submitted to General Motors for such confirmation (e.g., during Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) under this material specification must list all properties and must apply corresponding test methods of this material specification. 7 Notes 7.1 Glossary.
