After vacuuming the remaining two specimens, the retained lint observed is reported using an arbitrary rating scale. 4.1 Preparation. 4.1.1 Unless otherwise specified in the relevant material specification, conditioning shall be performed according to GMW3221 Code

To eliminate any tendency for the liner to rotate during testing, tape the two short edges at the join to the chamber wall with double coated tape. Note: Rep

19、tly shake off the excess fibers. Save one of the test specimens to illustrate lint pickup. 4.3.7 Clean off the remaining fibers on the last two test specimens using the following procedure. These test specimens illustrate lint retention. 4.3.7.1 Lay the test specimen flat on a 12 3 mm thick foam pad

20、. Vacuum the specimen until the specimen is completely void of any lint fibers or until 5 strokes are reached. One stroke is defined as a back and forth motion over the same area of the specimen. The specimen may be rotated as necessary to remove as much lint as possible within the limit of 5 stroke

21、s. 4.3.8 Mount the test specimens on stiff paper/card stock and label the lint pickup, lint retention and control test specimens appropriately. It is advisable to cover the mounted specimens with a piece of paper the same size as the card stock or to place the mounted specimens into a clear plastic

Compare the lint pickup and retention test specimens to the control specimen and rate using the following rating scale. 5.1.1 Rating Scale. Reference Table 1. Table 1: Rating

23、Scale Rating Observation 10 = None: No fiber left on the fabric surface. 8 = Trace: Slight amount of fiber left on the fabric surface as seen with the aid of 10X maximum magnification. 6 = Moderate: Slight amount of fiber left on the fabric surface as seen with the naked eye. 4 = Annoying: Large amo
