2、cation AA-C-001770. Salient Characteristics: These characteristics concisely describe the essential physical and functional/performance features of the commercially available items. Design. The cabinets shall be contemporary style intended for heavy duty office use (see attached figures) Types, clas
3、ses, sizes and styles. Type I - Storage cabinets Type II - Combination Storage and Wardrobe Cabinets Type III - Wardrobe Cabinet Class 1 - Double Door Class 2 - Single Door Size 1 - 36“W x 18“D x 78“ minimum Size 2 - 36“W x 18“D x 64“H minimum Size 3 - 18“W x 18“D x 78“H minimum Size 4 - 18“W x 18C)

5、e office. All cabinets shall comply with the specified test requirements. 7、Face hardware. The face hardware includes a flush pull assembly and a pin or disk tumbler key lock with two keys. The lock shall have not less than 125 key changes. Face hardware shall be polished chrome plate on steel or die cast zinc, or polished anodized aluminum. Coat hooks. Coat hooks shall be
8、commercially available items. Hooks shall be anodized or plated to resist rust. Ends shall be ciose ana smootn. Shelves. Shelves shall be as wide and deep as possible within the limitations of the cabinet construction. Hat shelves shall it by not more than 12 or less than 8 inches. Adjustable shelve

11、mber, NSN (if Specified, montn and year of manufacture legibly marked in dark ink. The label shall be located on the inside of the cabinet, approximately midpoint between the top and bottom. The label shall not be removable by hand without defacement after being affixed for four hours. Workmanship.

13、ing. Performance. Each cabinet shall comply with the following requirements. Failure to comply with these requirements shall be cause for rejection. Assembly test. A completely knocked-down cabinet shall be easily set up using common hand tools. Instructions shall. be provided. Door hinge test. This
14、 test shall be conducted on completely assembled cabinets. With the cabinet in an upright position, a 150 pound test load shall be suspended from the door (each door of double door cabinets, but not necessarily at same time) by a rope located not more than three inches back from the latch side of th
15、e top-edge of the door. To preclude tilting or upsetting during the test, counterweights may be placed within the cabinet. In a normal manner the door shall be pivoted back and forth, at least ll degrees in each direction. Each door shall be pivoted each way not less than six times. The weight shall
16、 then be removed from the door. If the door binds when closed or fails in any other respect it shall be considered as having failed the test. Failure to pass the test shall be cause for rejection. Shelf load test. This test shall be performed on shelves in Type 1, class 1 cabinets only. The required
17、 number of shelves for the cabinet being tested shall be adjusted so that they are as equidistant as possible from each other and from the top and bottom of the cabinets. The tests shall be performed consecutively on each shelf. The test area shall be the entire top of the shelf minus three inches f
18、rom each side. A weight of 60 pounds shall be equally distributed on the area specified. The weight shall remain on the-shelf at least 15 minutes. With the weight on the shelf, a measurement shall be taken from the bottom center of the shelf downward to a point of reference established before the we
19、ight was applied. The shelf shall not have more than 1/4 inch deflection while loaded or 1/6 inch permanent deflection after the load is removed. The cabinet shall then be visually examined. Any damage to the shelf support, deformation of any component, cracked or broken welds, or loosening of any f

This test shall be conducted on one cabinet of each type, class, and size. The load area for all shelves shall be the entire top of th
21、e shelf minus three inches from each side. Coat rods shall be loaded across the entire width of the rod, minus 2 inches on the side. All shelves shall be spaced as equidistant as possible between each other and between the top and bottom of the cabinet. Shelves, bottoms and coat rods shall be loaded
22、 with weights in the amounts shown in table below. The cabinets shall be pushed or pulled at a rate of approximately 3 feet per second for a distance of not less than 25 feet, across a concrete or tile floor. The force shall be applied at a height of 36 to 42 inches above the floor. The weights shal
