SCOPE. Th

2、is commercial item description describes one type and size of a general office wood costumer of KD constniction. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 2.1 Desim and Construction. The general office wood costumer covered by this CID shall designed to be KD and consist of a pole, two leg members, metal stud, fo

3、ur glides, four hooks and fasteners. The pole and legs shall be shipped KD. The manufacturer shall prepare simple, illustrated assembly directions which shall be packaged with each unit. The overall dimensions shall be 1675 mm high by 610 mm square at the base (plus or mmus 6 mm) All wood parts shal

4、l be accurately machined to insure an accurate fit and easy assembly with tolerances maintained that provide a tight, ngid unit when assembled. The costumer shall be stable when clothmg is hung on any or all of the four faces. 2.2 ComDonents. 2.2.1 Pole shall be 44 mm square over its entire length,

5、laminated of 3 full length/width pieces or be of one solid piece. The top 9 mm shall be beveled on a 45 degree angle on all four sides. Four hooks shall be securely mounted on the faces of the pole. 2.2.2 Leg members shall be as shown in Figure 1, shaped and notched to provide a stable base. They ma

6、y be of solid or built-up stock. 2.2.3 Wood mecies are Beech, Birch, Cherry, Maple, Red Alder, Sweetgum, Magnolia or Afncan Mahogany. The wood shall uniformly kiln-dried to a moisture content of from 5 to 8 percent and properly conditioned. It shall be bright, well machined and sanded, free from spl

7、its, honeycomb, knots, mineral streaks and other similar defects. 2.2.4 Adhesives. Adhesives used in fabricating the costumer shall be any that will develop an average block shear strength of 19 300 kPa minimum. 9、10 A - A - 3136 2.2.5 Hardware - 2.2.5.1 Glides. Glides shall be nail type, minimum 32 mm diameter, rubber cushioned with oxidized copper finish. 2.2.5.2 Hooks. The hooks shall be die cast zinc alloy, bronze or brass plated, cast true, free from blow holes or other defects. Each hook shall be fasten

10、ed with a minimum of two 8 x 19 mm oval-head brass screws. The upper hook shall support a 355 kg load applied over the hob and the lower hook support a 53 kg load applied over the hob. 3. FMISH. 3.1 The fimch shall match the standard Walnut (General Office-FSS-L-O1002 laminate sample) in color with

11、a satin finish and meet the test in 4.3.2. It shall be uniform, smooth, with no discoloration, gnt, tackiness, peeling, flaking, blistenng, cracking, damage or rub through. 3.2 Identification marking. Each costumer shall be permanently and legibly marked in an inconspicuous place with the Federal St

12、ock Number, contract number, date of manufacture and the manufachirers name or trademark, so that the source of supply may be readily determined. 4. QUALIY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient charactenstics of this commercial item descnption, co

13、nform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and 1 quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. 4.2 Inspection Provisions. Details of the first article sample requirements are contained in the solicitation. In addition, approval o

14、f the first article sample authonzes the start of production, but does not relieve the contractor of responsibility from conformance with all other applicable provisions of this CID. Rerun test if the average shear strength of all samples is below 19 300 kPa; there is a 10 percent or greater difference between high and low speci

16、men values, and at least one test specimen broke at more than 19 300 kPa. Disregard a test specimen in computing the average if it breaks at less than 19 300 Wa; and it has 50 percent or more wood failure. 4.3.2 Test for Finish. The toughness and adhesion test shall be made by using Organic Coating

18、 6.3). The panel shall be marred both parallel and perpendicular to the grain. The resulting indentation shall be examined for whitening (film separation) or cracking, which is not acceptable. The film shall conform to the contour of the indentation and shall not crack in a brittle manner in or alon

19、g the indentation. The test shall be made on completely finished wood panels of the same wood as used in production. The finish shall be produced in accordance with production procedures used in producing the costumer. 5. PACKAGING, PACKING, MARKMG. Preservation, packing, and marlung shall be as spe

20、cified in the contract or order. 6. NOTES. 6.1 intended Use.
