SCOPE 1.1 Scorie. This commercial item
2、description covers the requirements for a pad for parachutists to use with the aramid (Kevlar) helmet (MIL-H-44099, Helmet, Ground Troops and Parachutistls) to provide impact protection. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 2.1 Characteristics. The pad shall be trapezoid in shape with rounded-type corners, un
3、iformly coated, contain proofing constructed in accordance with Figures 1 and 2, and shall contain various markings. 2.2 Coatinq. The pads shall be uniformly coated on the front, back, sides and cutout walls (so that no foam is exposed) with Flexabar Corporation Coating Number 341821, color Olive Dr
4、ab containing yellow oxide pigment, or equal. If the contractor proposes to use an Itor equal“ coating, prior to its use the contractor shall furnish the formulation of the coating to the contracting officer for evaluation by the responsible military agency. The material for the pads shall conform to Monarch Rubber Company Vinyl Nitrile 6232 and 6
7、903; Rubatex R-310-V, Rubatex R-338-V; or equal. 2.4 Narkinq. The markings shall be in accordance with Figures 1 and 2, and shall be applied with a black marking medium. marking, shall be well-defined, clearly legible, and shall not show smearing, bleeding, or offsetting. 8、t in any way affect the pad material or coating. The 3. REGULATORY REOUIREMENTS 3.1 Remlatory reauirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 4. QUALITY A
9、SSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Certification. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this commercial item description; and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality
10、 assurance practices; and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. The Government reserves the right to require proof 4.2 Market accerkabil
11、itv criteria. The item offered must have been sold to the commercial market or to the Government, and the contractor shall certify and provide supporting documentation as to its serviceability and the long term (five years) availability of all necessary maintenance and logistics support parts and ma
12、terials. 4.3 Warranty. The item offered shall include the standard warranty given to the commercial market beginning with the date of delivery of the individual items. 4.4 Visual examination. The pad shall be examined for the defepts listed below. 4.4.1 Defects. Any cut, tear, or hole; cutout in cen
13、ter of pad omitted or covered with coating; any coating cracked, peeled, blistered dry, or not covering the foam area; any markings omitted, incomplete, illegible, or not black; any grease or oil stains; any item not packaged in accordance with the contract or purchase order.
