4、eral grades of diesel fuel for use in engine development tests and for factory fill in production diesel engines. 2.0 INTRODUCTIONThe emission certification grade is used for testing. Grade 1 diesel fuels are formulated for cold weather service (winter grades) and Grade 2 diesel fuels are formulated

5、 for warm weather service (summer grades). 2.1 Restricted Chemical SubstancesEffective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the CEMS B-50 specification. 3.0 CONTENTS PAGE 4. 11、rchased to this specification will conform to the requirements shown in Table 1, and meet applicable requirements of ASTM D 975. 7.0 QUALITY Material will be satisfactory for use as a diesel engine test and ship-away fuel and will be clear, free of visible water, and have no objectionable odor. 8.0

12、METHODS OF TESTASTM standards are available from ASTM, 1916 Race Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103. 9.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL9.1 Supplier RequirementsAll suppliers to NAVISTAR are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. NAVISTAR will also accept TS-16949 registr

13、ation as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their Corporate Buyer upon request

14、. 9.2 ApprovalParts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples that were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in materia

15、l, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify Materials Engineering, NAVISTAR Truck Development and Technology Center and Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to

16、all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change. 9.3 Process ControlThe supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on spe

17、cific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the plant metallurgist and/or the quality contr

33、s specified without further description, Grade 2C, Factory Fill, will be supplied. 2 If a red dye is added by agreement with the controlling Engineering Dept., this requirement may be waived. 3 Lubricity is measured using ASTM D 6079, the High Frequency Reciprocating Rig (HFRR) test at a 60 C temper

34、ature. Using the HFRR test, a Wear Scar Diameter (WSD) of 520 microns, max is permitted. 4 Grade 1C(MP)and Grade 2C(MP)are used at Melrose Park Engine Engineering. Added Grades 1C(MP) and 2C(MP) for use at Melrose Park Engineering APPENDIX GENERAL INFORMATION (NOT A REQUIREMENT) A.1 CHARACTERISTICS and APPLICATIONS These fuels are intended for use as follows: A.1.1 Factory Fill or Service Accumulation Fuel A.1.1.1 Grade 1 Winter Fuel: Factory Fill or S

40、ervice Accumulation test fuel, for use at low ambient temperatures of +10 to -25F (-12 to -32C). For temperatures below -25F (-32C), a fuel meeting the requirements of Commercial Item Description (CID) AA-52557, Low Temperature Diesel Fuel Blend F-65 should be used. The Grade 1 diesel fuel is normal

41、ly provided with a sulfur content of 7 - 15 parts per million (ppm). A.1.1.1.1 Grade 1C(MP) is a winter fuel used by Engine Group at Melrose Park Engineering. A.1.1.1.2 Grade 1C Winter Fuel: Factory Fill or Service Accumulation test fuel for use at the same ambient temperature ranges as the Grade 1

42、fuel but, having an ultra low sulfur content of 7-15 ppm. At this time the general availability of this Grade 1C fuel is quite limited. A.1.1.2 Grade 2 Summer Fuel: Factory Fill or Service Accumulation test fuel for normal ambient temperature operations. This fuel, with or without minimum aromatics

43、content, will meet EPA requirements for Service Accumulation tests. The Grade 2 diesel fuel is normally provided with a sulfur content of 7-15 parts per million (ppm). A.1.1.2.1 Grade 2C(MP) is a summer fuel used by Engine Group at Melrose Park Engineering. A.1.1.2.2 Grade 2C is a Factory Fill or Se

44、rvice Accumulation test fuel for use at the same ambient temperatures as the Grade 2 fuel but, having an ultra low sulfur content of 7 - 15 ppm. A.1.2 Emission Certification Fuel A.1.2.1 Grade 2: This fuel will meet EPA requirements for exhaust emission testing. The fuel is available in an ultra low sulfur version with sulfur content at 8-14 ppm.
