If full form, the top of head will be chamfered or rounded with the diameter of chamfer circle or start of rounding being equal to the specified maximum width across flats within a tolerance of -15%. If the top of head is ind

8、ented, the periphery may be rounded. CORNER FILL: The rounding due to lack of fill at all 12 corners of the head will be reasonably uniform. WRENCHING HEIGHT: The wrenching height will be measured, parallel to the axis of screw, from the intersection of the top contour of flange with any corner of h

9、ead to the top of the head. BEARING SURFACE: The bearing surface shall be conical 0.75 0.50 degrees concave from the plane formed by the bearing surface diameter. The plane of the bearing face will be perpendicular to the axis of screw within the runout limit specified in the dimensional chart. Meas

10、urement of runout will be made as close to the periphery of bearing face as possible while the screw is held in a collet or other gripping device at a distance equal to one screw diameter from the underside of the head. 15、orm, diameters, and associated pitches are in accordance with ISO Recommendations for coarse pitch series. Threads will be made to the tolerances of the medium class of fit (6g) for plain or unplated screws as shown in ISO 965/11, General Purpose Metric Screw Threads. THREAD LENGTH: The length of th

16、read on screws shall be controlled by the maximum grip gaging length, Lg, and the minimum body length, Ls, as set forth in the following paragraphs. Grip gaging length, Lg max, is the distance, measured parallel to the axis of the screw, from the plane formed by the bearing circle diameter to the fa

17、ce of a noncounterbored or noncountersunk standard GO thread ring gage assembled by hand as far as the thread will permit. For standard diameter-length combinations of screws, the values for Lg max are specified in Table 2. For diameter-length combinations not listed in Table 2, the maximum grip gag

18、ing length, as calculated and rounded to one decimal place, shall be equal to the nominal screw length, L, minus the basic thread length, M, as specified in Table 1. Body length, Ls min, is the distance, measured parallel to the axis of the screw, from the plane formed by the bearing circle diameter

19、 to the last scratch of thread or the top of the extrusion angle, whichever is closer to the head. For standard diameter-length combinations of screws, the values of Ls min are specified in Table 2. For diameter-length combinations not listed in Table 2, the minimum body length, as calculated and ro

20、unded to one decimal place, shall be equal to the maximum grip gaging length (as computed) minus the maximum transition length as given in Table 1 Lg min = Lg max (X). Ls min shall be used as a criterion for inspection. Nominal thread length, M, as specified in Table 1 is a reference dimension inten

21、ded for calculation purposes only, and is the distance measured parallel to the axis of the screw, from the extreme end of the screw to the last complete (full form) thread. Transition thread length, (X), as specified in Table 1 is a reference dimension intended for calculation purposes only. It inc

22、ludes the length of incomplete threads and tolerances on grip gaging length and body length. The transition from full thread to incomplete thread shall be smooth and uniform. JULY 2008 Page 3 of 6 major diameter of the incomplete threads shall not exceed the actual major diameter of the complete (full form) threads. The transition threads shall have a rounded root contour no radius of which shall

25、be less than the specified minimum radius at the root of the full form thread. The length of thread will be the distance from the end of the screw, including any chamfer or radius to the leading face of a screw ring gage with no internal chamfer which has been screwed as far as possible onto the scr

26、ew by hand. See table on last page for standard thread lengths. Screws that are too short for minimum thread lengths as shown in table on last page will be threaded to permit a screw ring gage being screwed by hand to within a distance from the underside of the head not exceeding two and one-half ti

27、mes the pitch. THREAD RUNOUT: Screws will screw at least two pitches into hardened gages such as illustrated below. The diametral clearance will be 0.79 mm for screws up to and including M20 and 1.57 mm for screws larger than M20. A - Thread ring gage set to Class 6H max pitch diameter. B - Sleeve.

33、ng Material Specification and class listed below. Plain (PLN) - Free from dirt and dust and coated with a light oil film. Phosphate Coated (PHC) CEMS G-1, Class B-2. High tensile strength steel components such as flanged 12-point screws, are more susceptible to embrittlement by hydrogen, therefore,

34、electroplating is not recommended for these products. However, if chemical or electrochemical surface coating cannot be avoided, the plated 12-point screws must be heated at a temperature sufficiently high and for a period sufficiently long to remove the hydrogen.
