5、 This specification covers temperature and wash resistant greases used in the interior of doors and cabs prior to painting. 2.0 SCOPE This grease is to be used on wear surfaces of cab and body mechanisms assembled in the interior of doors and cabs prior to metal preparation and painting operations,

6、or other applications. The lubricant desired under this specification may be a soap or non-soap thickener type, highly inert to acids and alkalis, water resistant and capable of withstanding temperatures up to 230C (450F) for short periods of time. It shall not include any silicone compound which wo

7、uld interfere in any manner with the metal preparation and painting operations. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the CEMS B-50 specification. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unles

8、s otherwise specified, the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply. The following standards, specifications and regulations are referenced in this specification. 9、ERAL REQUIREMENTS Shall meet the requirements outlined under Qualification. 5.0 QUALITY All product supplied shall be clean and free from dirt, oils, contaminants harmful to product performance. 11、o assume all patent liability. 2009 by Navistar, Inc. AUGUST 2009 Page 2 of 3 5.1 Qualification New products must be approved by Materials Engineering, TDTC. After approval by Materials Engineering, the manufacturing group at the using Navistar plant must approve the product as compatible with their

12、 manufacturing processes and systems. Parts will be lubricated with the proposed material, hung on conveyer hooks and subjected to the complete metal preparation and painting process, excluding painting. This will include alkali spray wash, hot water rinse, phosphatizing spray, hot water rinse, phos

13、phoric-chromic acid rinse, dry-off oven, and paint dry-off oven. Operational temperatures, conveyer speed, and solution concentrations to be used will be established by manufacturing plant personnel. 5.2 Inspection of these parts will then be made by the Plant Quality Department. Lubricants which sh

14、ow no adverse effects from the above process may be approved as optional. 6.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 6.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to Navistar are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. Navistar will also accept TS-16949 registration as long as the

15、supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their Navistar Corporate Buyer upon request 6.2 Approva

16、l Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples, which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes occur in material pr

17、operties, processing practices, or labeling, the supplier shall notify Materials Engineering at TDTC and Navistar Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new/amended/updated Material

18、Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFRTitle 29, Section 1910, shall be submitted with the request for change. 6.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistica

19、l evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the plant metallurgist and/or the quality control manager of the using NAVISTAR plant may determine testing and reporting requirements o

20、n specific products. 7.0 SHIPPING, PACKING AND IDENTIFICATION Shipping and identification shall be in accordance with Navistar Manufacturing Standard MS-D-13. When packaged for resale, containers, packaging and identification shall be in accordance with requirements set forth by the Parts Marketing

21、Division of the Parts Operation at Cantera in Warrenville, Illinois.
