4、 air brake system. The use of this product is restricted by SAE J844 and must have approval of Truck Development and Technology Center Brake Group. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the general requirements, property and performance requirements, and the quality control requirements. An approved s

7、of this specification and the requirements of the latest issue of the following standards: 1) SAE J844 Reinforced Type Air Brake Non-Metallic Tubing. 2) Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 571.106. 3) Federal Highway Administration Bureau of Motor Carriers Safety Requirements (Docket No. MC-41, No
8、tice 73-9). 4) Intenational Materials Specification TMS-7006. 4.1 Material The assemblies shall be constructed of reinforced tubing meeting the requirements of SAE J844 and TMS-7006. Assemblies supplied to t
11、his specification shall be smooth and uniform, free from any visible defects, foreign matter, kinks, seams or any other conditions that would impair the performance. 4.3 Color The tubing formulation shall be consistent in hue and of uniform saturation so that it matches the appearance of pre-product
12、ion approved samples and meets the applicable color requirements of the aforementioned standards. Approved color shall be designated on the assembly drawing. 4.4 Fittings Fittings shall be made from brass and spring guards of steel, meeting the dimensional requirements shown on the engineering drawi
13、ng. Steel shall be plated with zinc plating, Class 8A, CEMS G-20 or painted per TMS 9009, Class I. Spring guard free end shall be rounded and relieved to prevent abrasion of nylon tubing. 4.5 Property And Performance Requirements All assemblies furnished to this specification shall meet the provisio
14、ns and requirements of SAE J844, FMVSS 571.106, BMCS MC-41, TMS-7006, and, in addition, the following requirements: 4.5.1 Sag Resistance 4.5.1.1 Method Extend coiled assembly to the maximum recommended working length (as specified on the part drawing) in a horizontal position by clamping at ends and
15、 hold for 16 hours at 24 3C (75 5F). While in the extended position, measure the deflection from a horizontal line at top of the coil at the assembly mid-point. Reduce the extension of the assembly to 50% of the recommended working length and hold. After 30 minutes, repeat the sag measurement. 4.5.1
16、.2 Required Sag from the horizontal shall not exceed 4% of the maximum working length for full extension nor more than 8% of maximum working length for 50% extension. 4.5.2 Force of Extension 4.5.2.1 Method Extend coiled assembly to the maximum recommended working length at 24 3C (75 5F). Using a sp
17、ring scale or other suitable measurement device, determine total force of extension. 4.5.2.2 Required Force to extend to maximum working length shall not exceed 66.7 N (15 lbf). 4.5.3 Ovality - Nylon Tubing 4.5.3.1 Method: ASTM D-2122, Section #7, Calculations MinimumO.D.MaximumO.D.x 100 4.5.3.2 Req

20、.5.4.1 Method: Measure the inside diameter of the metallic sleeve (sleeve inside tubing). 4.5.4.2 Required: A 12.7 mm (1/2 in) O.D. coiled assembly shall have a minimum sleeve I.D. of 8.0 mm (0.315 in). 4.5.5 Fitting Tensile 4.5.5.1 Method: ASTM D-622 4.5.5.2 Required: Minimum pull-off shall be 1.45
21、 kN (325 lbf) 4.5.6 Spring Guard Tensile 4.5.6.1 Method: ASTM A-318, Section 3, with cross head speed of 2.5 cm (1 in) per minute. 4.5.6.2 Required Minimum force to remove spring from fitting shall be 445 N (100 lbf). 4.5.7 Quality Control Requirements The supplier shall perform the following contro
22、l tests on production parts and on a continuing basis according to the test frequency stipulated: 4.5.7.1 Leak Test Two assemblies per lot shall show no leakage when tested for five minutes under 1.4 MPa (200 psi) air pressure. Leakage of sample part shall require 100% leak testing of the subject lo
23、t. Note: A lot is defined as the product of one size and/or color assemblies made during one day of production. 5.0 QUALITY All assemblies to this specification shall be clean and free of dirt, grease, and contamination. All debris from cutting and processing shall be removed. Any internal release a
24、gents shall be flushed from the inside of the hose. Parts shall be free of voids and/or reinforcement splices. 5.1 KCC Key Control Characteristics Refer to Engineering Design Standard A16. Unless specific exception is noted on the engineering drawing, blueprint, and/or purchase order, the following
25、features/characteristics are identified as features for which management by statistical process control is mandatory for all tube and/or tube assemblies supplied to the requirements of this specification. AUGUST 2003 Page 4 of 4 6.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 6.1 Supplier Requirements Suppliers must conform to the requirements of the International IQR Quality Standard which includes conformance to the QS-9000 (ISO 9001)
30、 Quality System Standard. A mutually acceptable Quality Control Plan as described therein is required for source approval to the requirements of this specification. 6.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those
31、 samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in material, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify Materials
32、Engineering at TDTC and Purchasing and Logistics of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with
33、 the request for change. 6.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required propert
34、ies. The part supplier and the plant metallurgist and/or the quality control manager of the using International plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 7.0 SHIPPING, PACKING AND IDENTIFICATION 7.1 Identification The tubing and fittings furnished to this specifica
