M.717TESTING POINT (TRANSMISSION)1 Definition of testing point (transmission)The testing point (transmission) is an element within the general maintenance
5、 organization for the internationalautomatic and semi-automatic telephone service at each international centre. It carries out transmission testing oninternational circuits whether provided by wholly analogue transmission and switching systems or by a mixture ofanalogue and digital systems.2 Respons
6、ibilities and functionsThe testing point (transmission) is responsible for the following set of functions:2.1 Carrying out transmission measurements in connection with the setting-up and lining-up of internationalcircuits.2.2 Carrying out routine transmission tests.2.3 Diagnostic testing on receipt
7、of fault indications.2.4 Passing details of the location of faults to the appropriate maintenance unit and cooperating as necessary indetailed fault localization.2.5 Advising the circuit control or the sub-control station and the fault report point (circuit) of any difficultiesdetected by routine te
