4、Summary Recommendation 4.2931 provides basic call and connection control for point-to-point connections in a B-ISDN. This amendment has been prepared to allow the creation of Recommendation 4.2965.1 to contain all the information on the encoding of the quality of service parameter information elemen

5、t and the related procedures in a manner that is consistent with the second edition of Recommendation 1.356. This amendment is issued in conjunction with Recommendation 4.2965.1. Specifically, this amendment includes support for the following Recommendations: - ITU-T Recommendation 1.356 (1 996j, B-

6、ISDNATM layer cell transfer performance. - ITU-T Recommendation 4.2965.1 (1999), Digital subscriber signalling system Nu. 2 - Support of qualiv of service classes. l Source Amendment 3 to ITU-T Recommendation Q.2931 was prepared by ITU-T Study Group 11 (1997-2000) and was approved under the WTSC Res

The ITU

8、 Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permanent organ of the ITU. The ITU-T is responsible for studying technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Recommendations on them with a view to standardizing telecommunications on a worldwide basis. The World Telecommunication Sta

9、ndardization Conference (WTSC), which meets every four years, establishes the topics for study by the ITU-T Study Groups which, in their turn, produce Recommendations on these topics. The approval of Recommendations by the Members of the ITU-T is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSC Resolution

10、 No. 1. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation the term recognized operating agency (ROA) includes any individual, company, corporation or governmental organ

11、ization that operates a public correspondence service. The terms Administration, ROA andpublic correspondence are defined in the Constitution of the ITU (Geneva, 1992). AMENDMENT 3 (Geneva, 1999) 1) Subclause 4.5.18 - Quality of service parameter Replace the contents of the subclause (including Figure 4-24iQ.2931 and Table 4-1WQ.2931) with: See Recommendation 4.2965.1. 2) Subclause 5.1.3 - QoS and traffic parameter selection procedures Replac

21、e the entire contents with the following text: For the handling of traffic parameters in combination with QoS class, see 9. UQ.2965.1. The user shall indicate the requested peak cell rate in the ATM traffic descriptor information element. If the network is able to provide the requested peak cell rat

22、e, the network shall progress the call to the called user. If the network is not able to provide the requested peak cell rate, the network shall reject the call, returning a RELEASE COMPLETE message with cause No. 37, “user cell rate unavailable“. 3) Subclause 5.2.4 - QoS and traffic parameter selec

23、tion procedures Replace the entire contents with the following text: For the handling of traffic parameters in combination with QoS class, see 9.2/Q.2965.1. The cumulative end-to-end transit delay is indicated in the end-to-end transit delay information element. If the user is not able to accept the

24、 indicated end-to-end transit delay, the user shall reject the call, returning a RELEASE COMPLETE message with cause No. 49, “Quality of Service unavailable“. The network shall indicate the peak cell rate in the ATM traffic descriptor information element. If the user is not able to provide the indic
