The approval of Recommendations by the members of CC between Plenary Assemblies is covered by the procedure laid down in CC Resolution No. 2 (Melbourne, 1988). 8、YSTEM No. 7 1 Call Waiting (CW) 1.1 Definition The CW supplementary service permits a subscriber to be notified of an incoming call (as per basic call procedures) with an indication that no interface information channel is available. The user then has the choice of accepting, rejecting or ignoring t
9、he waiting call (as per basic call procedures). 1.2 Description 1.2.1 General description The ISDN Call Waiting supplementary service allows to notify a subscriber of an incoming call. 1.2.2 Specc terminology Throughout the stage 3 description of Call Waiting, the following terminology wiii be used:
10、 Subscriber B: this is the subscriber who is provided by the network with the Call Waiting supplementary User A: User B: User C: service on a particular interface. this represents a user who is engaged in a call with the user B. this is the user who reacts to the call waiting at B. this is the user
11、who has originated a call to B which causes the call waiting supplementary service to be invoked. 1.2.3 Qualijcation on the applicability to telecommunication services Same as 0 1.2.3 of Recommendation 1.253 1.2.4 State dejnitions No specific state definitions are required. 1.3 Operational requireme
12、nts 1.3.1 Provision and withdrawal The CW supplementary service shall either be provided on a subscription basis or, as a network provider option, be generally available to all users without subscription. Withdrawal shall be at the request of the subscriber or for administrative reasons. As a networ

20、internutianal gateway exchange An incoming international gateway exchange shall transfer the notification indication transparently to the succeeding exchange. 1.5.2.4.2 Exceptional procedures In the case of interworking with networks not supporting the CW Supplementary service, the incoming internat
21、ional gateway exchange shall discard the notificaton indication and the call will be completed according to the basic call procedure as described in Recommendation Q.764. 1.5.2.5 1.5.2.5.1 Normal operation As a subscription option the destination exchange shall include the call waiting indication in
22、 the Notification Indicator parameter field and send it within the address complete message or call progress message to the Originating exchange as the result of the receipt of an alerting message at the user-network interface.
