The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permane
3、nt organ of the ITU. Some 179 member countries, 84 telecom operating entities, 145 scientific and industrial organizations and 38 international organizations participate in -T which is the body which sets world telecommunications standards (Recommendations). The approval of Recommendations by the Me
4、mbers of ITU-T is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSC Resolution No. 1 (Helsinki, 1993). In addition, the World Telecommunication Standardization Conference (WTSC), which meets every four years, approves Recommendations submitted to it and establishes the study programme for the following per
5、iod. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-T?s purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. The text of ITU-T Recommendation X.737 was approved on 21st of November 1995. The identical text is also published as ISO/IEC International

For each of these, a standard approach is used in terms of the compon
19、ents of the test category such as the purpose of the test, the resources, as defined in Recommendation X.745, test environment and content of result report, etc. The “inheritance” relationship among test object classes (representing test categories) is defined and the specifications of these as mana
20、ged objects, included. This Recommendation I International Standard provides a means for other, notably TMN related groups, to use the same method for test category specification. This Recommendation I International Standard should be considered with the Test Management Function in Recommendation X.

22、 TEST CATEGORIES 1 - Scope This Recommendation I International Standard defines a Systems Management Function that may be used by an application process in a centralised or decentralised management environment to interact for the purpose of systems management, as defined by CCITT Rec. X.700 I ISOAEC
23、 7498-4. This Recommendation I International Standard defines a function which consists of generic definitions, services and functional units. This function is positioned in the application layer of ITU-T Rec. X.200 I ISO/IEC 7498-1 and is defined according to the model provided by ITU-T Rec.X.207 I
24、 ISO/IEC 9545. The role of systems management functions is described by CCITT Rec. X.701 I ISOAEC 10040.
