FOREWORD ITU (International Telecommunication Union) is the United Nations Specialized Agency in the field of te
8、lecommunications. The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permanent organ of the ITU. Some 179 member countries, 84 telecom operating entities, 145 scientific and industrial organizations and 38 international organizations participate in ITU-T which is the body which sets world
9、 telecommunications standards (Recommendations). The approval of Recommendations by the Members of IT-T is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSC Resolution No. 1 (Helsinki, 1993). In addition, the World Telecommunication Standardization Conference (WTSC), which meets every four years, approves
10、Recommendations submitted to it and establishes the study programme for the following period. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. Part 4 defines protecting transfer syntax for communications transfers between open systems as part of the operation of a security mechanism. To evalua
20、te the conformance of a particular implementation, it is necessary to have a description of the capabilities and options which have been implemented. 22、CTION - GENERIC UPPER LAYERS SECURITY: PROTECTING TRANSFER SYNTAX PROTOCOL IMPLEMENTATION CONFORMANCE STATEMENT (PICS) PROFORMA 1 Scope This Recommendation I Intemational Standard defines a Protocol Implementation Conformance Statement (PICS) proforma for the detailed expression of the conformance r
23、equirements of ITU-T Rec. X.833 1 ISOEC 11586-4 and hex D of ITU-T Rec. X.830 I ISOAEC 11586-1. This PICS proforma is in compliance with the relevant requirements, and in accordance with the relevant guidance for a PICS proforma, given in ITU-T Rec. X.291 and ISOAEC 9646-2. Detail of the use of this
24、 proforma is provided in this Recommendation 1 International Standard. Implementations claiming conformance to IT-T Rec. X.833 I ISOAEC 11586-4 or Annex D of IT-T Rec. X.830 I ISOAEC 11586-1 shall complete the proforma as part of the conformance requirements. The level of detail required in the prof
25、orma exceeds that of the protocol specification by requiring details to uniquely identify the implementation and the supplier. NOTE - PICS are related to base Recommendations and Standards and only base Recommendations and Standards. PICS structure might be expanded and refined for other documents u

The PICS proforma Annex A has been designed to be a self contained section of this Recommendation 1 International Standard, for use in testing
36、 and procurement. 6 Conformance A conforming PICS proforma shall be technically equivalent to the ITU-T I ISOAEC published PICS proforma and shall preserve the numbering and ordering of the items in the ITU-T 1 ISOAEC PICS proforma. This numbering is included as a
45、means of uniquely identiQing all possible implementation details within the PICS profonna. The need for such unique referencing has been identified by the testing bodies. In certain clauses of the PICS proforma further guidance for completion may be necessary. Such guidance
49、shall supplement the guidance given in this clause and shall have a scope restricted to the clause in which it appears. in addition, other specifically identified information shall be provided by the implementor where requested. No changes shall be made to the proforma except the completion as required. Recognizing that the level of detail required may, in some instances, exceed the space available for responses a number ofresponses specifically allow for the addition of appendices to the PICS.
