Scope This Standard gives the system for numbering like-named electrodes or terminal functions in semiconductor devices and for assigning numerical designations to unite of multiple-unit semiconductor devices. It applies to both integrated circuits and discrete devices. The examples are

12、intended only to identify terminal functions and not to indicate any preferred function for the specific terminals. In the case of integrated circuits, it is not the intent of this Standard to specify the alphabetical characters or signal names associated with particular functions. 2. Requirements T

13、he numbering of electrodes, terminal functions, or designation of units shall be derived from the terminal numbering for the device package as specified in the latest revision of EIA-308, “Preparation of Outline Drawings of Solid State Products for JEDEC Type Registration.“ Following connno“ practic

14、e, the terminal numbering show“ for discrete devices is as see“ in bottom views of the devices, whereas the terminal numbering show“ for integrated circuits is as seen in top views of the devices. For explanation of the symbols in parentheses, see Clause 3. In single-unit semiconductor devices havin

15、g more than one electrode of the same type or like-named terminal functions, (see examples 1, 2, and 3), the first of the similar functions, that is, the o“e connected to the lowest- numbered terminal, shall be assigned the number 1. Successively higher numbers shall be assigned to the remaining sim

16、ilar functions according to the sequence in which connections are made to successively higher-numbered terminals. If similarly named electrodes or terminal functions are functionally different, appropriate numbering independent of terminal numbers shall he used. For example, JEDEC registration docum

17、ents specify that the two emitters of a Darlington-connected transistor are to be designated 1 and 2 for the input and output transistors, respectively. 20、1, the independent parts may be numbered sequentially even if the independent parts are not similar units. This is particularly useful if some of the terminal functions are nominally the same. Recommendations In semiconductor devices having more than one terminal of the same function, the terminal symbol (name) may be modified by adding a suffix number to the symbol or name, e.g., El, E2, etc. The suffix should be added on the came line as the symbol or n

25、ame, not as B subscript. In multiple-unit semiconductor devices, the terminal symbol or name may be modified by adding a prefix number to the symbol or name, e.g., lA, 2A, etc. The prefix should be added on the same line as the symbol or name. The foregoing recommendations may be applied in combinat
