FEBRUARY 2017 Page 7 of 17 6.2 Mechanical Properties Stainless steel or heat resisting alloys are usually furnished in an “as-rolled” or “as-annealed” condition, unless otherwise specified. The mechanical properties of mart

24、ensitic and precipitation-hardening grades are dependent on heat treatment. These properties are specified when commodities are to be received in a final condition. The tensile strength of certain 200 and 300 series strip and sheet products can be increased by temper rolling. Temper rolling is done

25、at extra cost and the degree of temper designates the minimum attained tensile strength. The minimum tensile strengths associated with the temper classifications are shown in Table III. FEBRUARY 2017 Page 9 of 17 6.2.2 Tubing For stainless steel tubing, refer to ASTM A 269 for requirements for seamless and welded austenitic tubing for general service. This type of tubing would g

34、enerally be available in Types 304, 304L, and other 300-series austenitic grades, having a minimum ” (6.4 mm) inside diameter, and minimum 0.020 in. (0.51mm) nominal wall thickness. For mechanical tubing grades, refer to ASTM A 554 for requirements for welded austenitic stainless steel tubing up to

35、16 in (406.4 mm) outside dimension and having minimum wall thickness of 0.020 in (0.51 mm). This type of tubing is generally available in round, square, or rectangular shapes. The grade of stainless steel tubing should be specified on the engineering drawing, along with any other special requirement

36、s or conditions. Tubing will be supplied with mill finish, unless otherwise specified. Refer to Table VII in MPAPS A-37 Appendix for tubing property ranges. 6.2.3 Pipe For stainless steel pipe, refer to ASTM A 312 for requirements. This standard covers seamless, straight-seam welded, and cold worked

37、 austenitic stainless steel pipe. Refer to industry catalogs for available grades and sizes. 6.3 Dimensional Tolerances Material purchased to this specification will conform to the dimensional tolerances shown in the applicable industry product standard. Refer to MPAPS A-37 Appendix, Section A.5.0, for more information and definition of stainless steel sheet/strip surface finishes. 7.2 Chemical Finishes If a chemical finish is required for a given part, the type of finish will be specified on the part drawing, and must meet the
