、Change Notice: Reformatted as MPAPS. Editorial Changes 1.0 APPLICATION Constructional steels are supplied in the heat treated condition. They have limited formability, but possess high strength and good wear resistance in the as-received condition. They are suitable for use in many applications wher

、e their limited formability is acceptable. AR grades are intended for applications where a good combination of abrasion resistance, formability, and weldability is required 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the Companys requirements for high strength, heat-treated steel used for constructional or

Abrasion resistant (AR) steel grades are supplied as through-hardened plate which has been austenitized, water quenched, and tempered. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007,

JUNE 2015 Page 6 of 12 A.0 GENERAL INFORMATION (Not a Requirement) A.1 INTRODUCTION A.1.1 Heat-treated constructional steels are low carbon steels which may contain small amounts of several alloyin

、g elements. These steels have high strength, good toughness and weldability. The mechanical properties are obtained by austenitizing, water quenching and tempering to the desired strength and hardness. A.2 APPLICATIONS Types 80, 90, 100C and 100 These grades are used for high strength applications w

、here mechanical properties of unheat-treated carbon steels and high strength-low alloy steels are not adequate. These grades also have better abrasion resistance and lower transition temperatures than the above mentioned steels. They are normally produced as plate; however, Type 100 is available in

、bar, structural shapes and sheet. Types 80, 90, and 100C may be available in bar shapes when ordered in mill quantities. Type 100 is an alloy grade used in limited quantities by several Navistar plants. Types 80, 90 and 100C are carbon steel grades and significant cost savings may be realized by the

、ir use. Types 321WRC, 321WR and 363 WR These grades are used primarily for wear resistant applications such as in wear bars, dump truck body liners or other applications requiring abrasion resistance. They are characterized by high hardness, high strength and good weldability when proper care is exe

、rcised. These steels do not form readily. Types 321WRC and 321WR are recommended for wear resisting applications where slight forming is required. Type 363WR is not recommended for forming. Type 321WRC is a carbon steel grade and significant cost savings may be realized by its use. This grade requir

、es mill quantities. Types AR400F and AR500 These grades are through-hardened, abrasion resistant plate, intende intended for applications where a good combination of abrasion resistance and weldability is desired. AR500 is not considered formable, but forming can be done with an inside bend radius o
