Change Notice: MPAPS Format; Editorial Changes 1.0 APPLICATION High pressure diesel fuel injection lines. 2.0 SCOPE Part III of CEMS A-45 covers the requirements for single-wall steel tubing used in the Companys products for high pressure diesel fuel injection lines. Engineering Material Sp

5、ecifications covering other tubular steel products used by the Company are as follows: Mechanical Steel Tubing MPAPS A-10 Welded and Seamless Steel Pipe MPAPS A-18 Structural Steel Tubing MPAPS A-38 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirement

6、s of this specification must comply with the requirements of the MPAPS B-50 specification. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified, the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply. The following standards, specifications and regulations are referenced in this specification. Quali

9、hich are classified as shown in Table 1. JUNE 2015 Page 3 of 5 4.4 Performance Requirements The finished tubing will meet the following requirements when inspected with an unaided eye. See “Methods of Test,” Section 5.3. 4.4.1 Bending The

15、tested sample will show no defect other than superficial outside surface ruptures. ID finish will not deviate from the description specified under “Quality,” Section 5.2. 4.4.2 Upsetting The tested sample will show no defects other than superficial outside surface ruptures. 4.4.3 Dimensional Toleran

16、ces Tubing purchased to this specification will conform to the following tolerances: Outside Diameter : +0.005/- 0.00 inch (+0.13/-0.00 mm) Inside Diameter: 0.0025 inch ( 0.064 mm) 5.0 QUALITY 5.1 Manufacture The tubing will be cold drawn from billets which, after piercing, have had the internal sur

17、face conditioned to remove all hot mill fissures or other defects. After forming, the tubing will be annealed in such a manner as to prevent scale formation on the inside surface and to produce a tube which will meet all requirements of this specification, including being suitable for cold swaging,

18、cold upsetting or cold bending. 5.2 Workmanship and Cleanliness The outside diameter and inside diameter tubing surfaces will be free from scale, rust, seams, laps, laminations, pits or other serious defects. The tubing will be finished on a mandrel to insure a smooth bore of accurate size with no f

19、issures, seams, laps, etc., deeper than 0.005 inch (0.13 mm) or 5% of the wall, whichever is less. In addition, there will be no more than 3 fissures, seams, laps, etc., between 0.003 and 0.005 inch (0.08 to 0.13 mm) or 5% of the wall, whichever is less, and no more than 10 fissures, seams, laps, et

20、c., between 0.002 to 0.003 (0.05 to 0.08 mm) in any transverse cross section of the tubing inspected. 5.3 Methods of Test 5.3.1 Tensile Test Perform this test in accordance with the applicable portions of ASTM A 370. Determine the yield strength by the 0.2% offset method. 5.3.2 Hardness Test Perform

21、 this test on the inside surface of a specimen cut longitudinally from the tubing. Avoid cold working of tubing before testing. 5.3.3 Bending Test Bend the tube around a rod of diameter equal to the outside diameter of the tube through the angle of 180 degrees. Examine for defects. 5.3.4 Upsetting U

22、pset a tube length equal to twice its outside diameter, compressing it longitudinally to a length equal to its outside diameter. Examine for defects. 6.0 QUALIFICATION Engineering qualification of sources is required in advance of production shipments. Samples shall be accompanied by test data certi

23、fying that all requirements of the specification have been met. JUNE 2015 Page 4 of 5 6.1 Quality Control Plan A Quality Control Plan for products supplied to the requirements of this specification will be established by mutual agreement between NAVISTAR and the supplier. Unless specific exce

25、ption is noted, the following characteristics, where applicable*, shall be included in the plan as features for management by statistical process control.* * Other characteristics for inclusion in the control plan may be specified on the engineering drawing and/or purchase order. * See NAVISTAR Engi

26、neering Design Standard A-16 7.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 7.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to NAVISTAR are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. NAVISTAR will also accept TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Prod

27、uction Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their Corporate Buyer upon request. 7.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders

28、 citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in material, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or lab

29、eling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify NAVISTAR Materials Engineering and Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data

30、Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change. 7.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of t

31、he lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the quality control manager of the using NAVISTAR plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 8.0 SHIPPING AND HANDLIN

32、G Shipping and identification shall be in accordance with NAVISTAR Manufacturing Standard MS-D-13. Parts shall be packaged so as to avoid any damage in shipment detrimental to the appearance of the part. 9.0 DESIGNATION ON DRAWINGS Material designation on drawings and purchase orders will consist of
