4、rt 1 1.0 APPLICATION This specification covers carpet and trim materials suitable for use in floor and trim applications. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers all carpet and trim materials. Part 1 of the specification describes general and performance requirements and certification of flammability re

5、sistance, which pertain to all products. Qualification, quality control and source approval, and shipping and identification requirements, common to all products, are also included in Part 1. Requirements for construction, material, finished weight, strength, and abrasion resistance for each particu

6、lar type of material (Type A, Type B, etc.) are covered in Part 2 of this specification. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective JANUARY 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of MPAPS B-50. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherw

OCTOBER 2016 Page 2 of 9 Part 1 3.1 Definitions For definition of terms relating to textiles and fabric products, see ASTM D 123. 4.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS All products supplied shall meet the requirements shown in Part 1 and in addition shall me

11、et the requirements for the specific type of product (Type A, Type B, etc.) as shown in Part 2. If the material is bonded or laminated, see MPAPS D-7028 for further requirements of the assembly. 4.1 Color, texture and finish of production material supplied must match master samples of the pre-produc

12、tion material originally approved and on file in the Master Fabric Book at Navistar Industrial Design Department. 4.2 Material Lay Material must be fabricated in such a manner that wrinkles or fullness shall not occur between edges when material is rolled out on a flat surface and in a straight line

13、 for a minimum of 17.4 m (19 yd) lengths. Material must be rolled with facing side out. 4.3 Performance Requirements Unless otherwise specified, the material shall be conditioned and tested under standard conditions, 21 2C and 50 5% RH. 4.3.1 Accelerated Weathering per MPAPS GT-31, Zone C All materi

14、als shall qualify to one of the two following tests: 4.3.1.1 Fluorescent UV: Method F 4.3.1.1.1 Expose sample to 100 hours continuous UV-A fluorescent light (w/o condensation cycle) at 40 C. 4.3.1.2 Xenon Arc: Method A 4.3.1.2.1 Interior cycle, 225 kJ/m min. 4.3.1.3 Required (Either Method): There w

15、ill be no sign of color alteration greater than E of 3, decreased pliability or fiber degradation after exposure. A minimum rating of 3.0 per AATCC Evaluation Procedure 1. 4.3.2 Mildew Resistance: AATCC Method 30 Shall not exhibit any objectionable odor or growth of mildew. 4.3.3 Flammability Resist

16、ance: MPAPS P-9544 (FMVSS 571.302) Material supplied to this specification shall meet all requirements MPAPS P-9544 and the latest issue of Federal Motor Vehicle Standard #302 - Flammability of Interior Materials. The supplier shall provide certification of compliance in accordance with requirements

17、 of MPAPS P-9543. 4.3.4 Colorfastness to Rubbing: MPAPS DT-12 4.3.4.1 Method Perform crocking test dry, wet, and with 100% petroleum naphtha and with chemicals listed in MPAPS DT-12, Method A. 4.3.4.2 Required Minimum AATCC Rating of 4. 19、ble odor, have flexibility necessary for good tailoring, be uniform in quality, and match the color and finish of preproduction approved samples. 6.0 QUALIFICATION Engineering qualification of sources is required in advance of production shipments. Samples shall be accompanied by test data certifyin

20、g that all requirements of the specification have been met. Suppliers shall submit samples for approval of finish, luster, color and appearance to the Navistar Industrial Design Group. Upon approval, styling master samples denoting the minimum level of acceptable appearance quality shall be develope

21、d and retained by the supplier and the quality department of each using NAVISTAR facility. 6.1 Quality Control Plan A Quality Control Plan for products supplied to the requirements of this specification will be established by mutual agreement between NAVISTAR and the supplier (the following attribut

22、es are recommended for receiving inspection: color, finish, tensile strength, tear strength, and weight). Unless specific exception is noted, the following characteristics, where applicable*, shall be included in the plan as features for management by statistical process control.* * Other characteri

23、stics for inclusion in the control plan may be specified on the engineering drawing and/or purchase order. * See NAVISTAR Engineering Design Standard A-16 7.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 7.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to NAVISTAR are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality Sys

24、tem Requirements. NAVISTAR will also accept TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of reg

25、istration certificates to their Corporate Buyer upon request. 7.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are pe

26、rmitted without approval. 28、 indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change. 7.3 Process Control The supplier shall either, perform and r

29、eport results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the quality contro

30、l manager of the using NAVISTAR plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 8.0 SHIPPING AND HANDLING Shipping and identification shall be in accordance with NAVISTAR Supplier Packing and Shipping Standard D-13. Parts shall be packaged so as to avoid any damage in sh

34、9 . Part 2 1.0 INDIVIDUAL MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS All materials supplied shall meet requirements of Part 1 and the individual requirements for the type as shown in Part 2. Any material used in a bonded, laminated or dielectric application shall meet the composite requirements of MPAPS D-7028. 2.0 TEST

35、 METHODS The following test methods are used to define individual characteristics of each material. Unless otherwise indicated, values listed in Part 2 are minimum requirements. 2.1 Tensile Strength: ASTM D 751, Grab Method 2.2 Finished Weight: SAE J860 2.3 Tear Strength: ASTM D 751 Tongue Method 2.

36、4 Abrasion: SAE J1530, Test Method for Determining Resistance to Abrasion, Bearding, and Fiber Loss of Automotive Carpet Materials, Method B - By weight of specimen - is to be followed with the following exceptions: 2.4.1 Set vacuum control at 100%. 2.4.2 Mounting cards are optional, based on what i

37、s appropriate for the material tested. 2.4.3 Fiber is not collected. 2.4.4 Do not fold specimen, punch hole. 2.4.5 Redress wheel every 300 cycles, test for total cycles indicated below. 2.4.6 Method 1 or 2 will be indicated in individual requirements for each type. 2.4.6.1 Method 1: 500 grams, 600 c

38、ycles, H-18 wheel 2.4.6.2 Method 2: 500 grams, 1200 cycles, H-18 wheel 2.4.7 Required: There shall be no evidence of backing material showing and appearance shall be comparable to the approved master samples. 40、t A heavier weight, needled, polypropylene carpet materials for kick panels for non-floor carpet trim applications, formerly TMS-7069. 42、ester trim carpet used for covering of interior side and back panels. 3.5 Type C2 Needled Carpet Similar to Type C1 except it is a heavier weight needled polyester trim carpet used for interior side and back panels. 3.6 Type C3 Needled Carpet Similar to Type C1 except it is a thicker needled polyest

43、er trim carpet used for interior side and back panels. 3.7 Type C4 Polyester Fleece A thick and smooth non woven polyester fleece used for dampening sounds caused by scraping, rattle or vibration. Black, natural rubber is used in conjunction with this material for adhesive. 4.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
