Both graphite and molybdenum disulfide will form volatile compounds in air at temperatures in excess of 900 C. 5.1.2 Method of Determination: PTFE in mixtures with graphite, glass and molybdenum disulfide can be successfully determined by TGA under ni

In that case, dip the pan in concentrated hydrochloric solution for a few minutes and subsequently rinse it in distilled water. Thereafter, the p

Using the scissors or a scalpel cut about 15 to 20 milligrams of the sample and place in the platinum pan. 6.5.3 Hook the purge gas connector to the nitrogen cylinder. 6.5.4 Turn the TGA unit “on”, including the temper

Refer to the instruction manuals for details. 6.5.5 Set the minimum temperature, maximum temperature, heating rate and load temperature according to the procedure in the manual. Unless otherwise specified by the materials engineer, the minimum and maximum temperatures

39、for the nitrogen run should be set to 40-80 C, respectively, whereas, the same for the air should be set to 40-950 C. 6.5.6 Turn the computer “on” and load the TGS TADS software. Follow the detailed instructions in the manual, zero the balance and subsequently set all the required parameter. 6.5.7 H

40、ang the sample pan from the balance hook and close the chamber tightly. Open the purge gas valve and wait a minute to get a good purge. 6.5.8 Start the test. After it is finished, save the data, plot and report the parameters listed below. 6.5.9 Unhook the purge gas connector from the nitrogen tank

41、and connect it to the air tank. 6.5.10 Start the test again to complete the air run. 7.0 REPORT Produce separate charts for both runs. Identify the temperatures where the line starts to shift downwards. A line could shift at more than one place in a chart (i.e., the weight loss can occur in steps).

42、Note all these step weight losses. Using the software, measure the weight loss in each step. Record the start and end temperatures of each step weight loss and the amount (in percent of weight loss). 8.0 QUALITY NUMBER: K-15-5009 TITLE: Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) Seal Material REVISION: 1510 Thi
