4、of regulatory limits prior to use. 1.0 APPLICATION This specification covers five types and five grades of either polyvinyl chloride or non-blooming, low migration rubber floor mats. These floor mats may or may not also be used as sound barriers. 1.1 Type I: Rubber mat with a colored pattern of poly

5、vinyl chloride coated to the rubber stock. 1.2 Type II: Same as Type 1 except without the vinyl coating. 1.3 Type III: Solid polyvinyl chloride mat. 1.4 Type IV: Polyurethane floor mat. 1.5 Type V: TPO engine tunnel cover blanket. 1.6 Grade A: Low mass or sound requirements, typically used for dash

6、or engine cover insulators. 1.7 Grade B: Mass requirements for medium sound transmission loss. 1.8 Grade C: Mass requirements for high sound transmission loss. 1.9 Grade D: Mass requirements for very high sound transmission loss. 1.10 Grade E: Mass requirements for very high sound transmission loss.

7、 1.11 Grade Z: No sound transmission loss requirements. Note: Existing drawings that specify Type I or II, without reference to Grades A, B, or C shall be provided to the requirements of Grade B. Exceptions are listed in Table 1. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the general requirements, property

8、 and performance requirements, quality, quality control requirements, source approval and quality control. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the MPAPS B-50 specification. 14、at meet the mass requirements. 4.2 Dimensions 4.2.1 Base Stock Shall be either 2.79 +0.13 mm (0.110 + 0.005 in) or 3.56 + 0.13 mm (0.140 + 0.005 in) thick as specified. 4.2.1.1. These stock thicknesses represent mass values of approximately 4.9 kg/m (1 lbm/ft) and 6.1 kg/m (1.25 lbm/ft) respectively

15、. 4.2.2 Vinyl Film (Heel Pad) - If required, Type I only. 0.15 mm (0.006 in) minimum thickness unless otherwise specified. 4.2.2.1 If 0.08 mm (0.003 in) vinyl film is specified, film may be flow coated instead of laminated, depending upon the pattern or finish required. 4.2.3 Vinyl Coating - Type I

Material shall be free from objectionable odor and shall match the color and finish of pre-production approved samples. . 6.0 QUALIFICATION Engineering qualification of sources is required in advance of production shipments. Samples shall be accom

29、panied by test data certifying that all requirements of the specification have been met. Suppliers shall submit samples for approval of finish, luster, color and appearance to the Navistar Industrial Design Group. Upon approval, styling master samples denoting the minimum level of acceptable appeara

30、nce quality shall be developed and retained by the supplier and the quality department of each using NAVISTAR facility. OCTOBER 2016 Page 5 of 6 6.1 Quality Control Plan A Quality Control Plan for products supplied to the requirements of this specification will be established by mutu

32、al agreement between NAVISTAR and the supplier. Unless specific exception is noted, the following characteristics, where applicable*, shall be included in the plan as features for management by statistical process control.* * Other characteristics for inclusion in the control plan may be specified o

33、n the engineering drawing and/or purchase order. * See NAVISTAR Engineering Design Standard A-16 7.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 7.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to NAVISTAR are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. NAVISTAR will also accept TS-16949 regis

34、tration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their Corporate Buyer upon reque

35、st. 7.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in mat

36、erial, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify NAVISTAR Materials Engineering and Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specificatio

37、n, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change. 7.3 Process Control The supplier shall either, perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using

38、ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the quality control manager of the using NAVISTAR plant may determine testing and

39、reporting requirements on specific products. 8.0 SHIPPING AND HANDLING Shipping and identification shall be in accordance with NAVISTAR Supplier Packing and Shipping Standard D-13. Parts shall be packaged so as to avoid any damage in shipment detrimental to the appearance of the part. NUMBER: MPAPS

Other pertinent information necessary to describe the color, grain, finish or other description of the finished mat shall be shown on the drawing. Exam
