A clear border shall be 1.5 mm 1.5 mm from edge of glass and is not shown on the engineering print. 4.3 Pre-Primed Glass Glass intended for produc

、tion bonding applications may be designated as having an adhesion primer applied in the areas indicated on the engineering print. This primer shall meet the requirements of MPAPS K-6927. Once the glass primers have been pre-applied to the fritted glass, it must be kept contamination free throughout

、all application, packaging, shipping, and NAVISTAR processes. 4.3.1 Shelf-Life Pre-primed glass has a shelf-life/open-time of 90 days. It is expected that glass received at International facilities shall have a minimum of 60 days remaining shelf life unless other arrangements are made with the recei

、ving facility. If this material has expired, the glass may be re-primed once per 4.3.2. 4.3.2 Re-Prime A maximum of one re-prime is allowed and only re-prime with black-out. An approved solvent wipe followed by a re-prime of black-out primer is recommended if gross contamination is seen on the prime

、d surface, see MPAPS K-6927. 4.3.3 Labeling Pre-primed glass shall be supplied with a label containing the glass priming date, the shipment date, and the expiration date. 4.3.4 Material Storage Pre-primed glass shall be stored at ambient temperature below 35 C (95 F) away from all sources of heat, d

、irect sunlight, and ultraviolet light. The primer exhibits a marked decrease in storage life when not stored under stated conditions. Materials stored at temperatures below 21 C (70 F) shall be conditioned at ambient temperatures prior to adhesive or primer application. Due to storage life limitatio

、ns, inventory must be rotated continually (first-in, first-out) and kept to a minimum. 35、Aids Parts bonded as assembly aids, such as locating features and locking components for in plant bonding, shall meet requirements as agreed upon by engineering and the using facilities. Typical requirements might be an abbreviated test requirement of the screening test plan in MPAPS K-6929. 4.5 Mol

、dings, Seals and Encapsulation 4.5.1 Moldings Moldings are secondary molded or extruded trim coverings for edges and close-outs. Moldings shall be specified on the engineering print and shall usually comply with one of the types specified in MPAPS K-6045. If it is a bonded attachment to the glazing

、then that shall meet the requirements of section 4.4.3 of this specification. 4.5.2 Seals Seals are secondary molded parts, usually extruded, that make a seal against the body close-out either to retain the glass or as part of a mechanism that creates a seal in compression. Seals are usually specifi

、ed by MPAPS K-6045 and are so indicated on the engineering print. If the seal is bonded to the glazing it shall comply with the requirements of section 4.4.3 of this specification. 4.5.3 Encapsulation Encapsulation is a process that forms a trim molding directly on the glazing. A seal can be made by

、 encapsulation but this is not a normal practice. The standard encapsulation material shall meet: PUR, A71/JA70K11L450M30YA1000AC1 per MPAPS D-28. Other materials may be specified on the engineering print. The adhesion to the glazing shall comply with the requirements of section 4.4.3 of this specif

、ication or MPAPS K-6927 for finished properties. 4.6 Dimensional Tolerances The thickness tolerance of Glazing is 0.2 mm ( 0.008 in). Commercial thicknesses typically available are shown in Table 1 at the end of this specification. Refer to SAE J673 (Automotive Safety Glazing) for additional toleran

、ce requirements. 5.0 QUALITY Ceramic coating defects shall be evaluated by viewing the glass under normal daylight from a distance of 750 mm, perpendicular to the surface of the part. Screen grid marks shall not leave a visible pattern after fired. Smears shall not present an objectionable appearanc
