4、ory limits prior to use. 1.0 APPLICATION This specification covers engineering and quality control requirements for purchased cab suspension modules provided to Navistar plants as completed units ready for delivery directly to the truck assembly line. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers painting, de

5、sign and testing requirements, the quality plan, quality control, source approval, and shipping and identification requirements. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the MPAPS

6、 B-50 specification 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified, the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply. FEBRUARY 2018 Page 2 of 5 4.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Product supplied shall be suitable for its intended application. 4.1 CAD Requirements - NEW It is expected that suppliers provide 3D Solid Modeling CAD and 2D print

11、s to Navistar for production release work, packaging studies, etc. (preferably in Unigraphics (NXv7.5) format, and transferred through the Navistar data Xchange program). Parasolids are an acceptable 3d format to be imported into Unigraphics by a Navistar engineer. Solid models are expected to conta

12、in all articulated positions for packaging studies (rebound, jounce, ride height, and roll is optional - if deemed applicable by both Navistar engineering and supplier). This requirement is only applicable to new designs released after February 2018 (revision 1802). 4.2 DRD Requirements - NEW If add

13、itional design requirements beyond this document are to be required from engineering, Navistar engineering will be responsible to provide supplier an approved DRD specific to the PN being developed that documents special requirements that apply only to the PN the DRD is written for. 4.3 DVP Requirem

14、ents NEW For any new parts to be released, supplier is responsible to provide Navistar engineering a proposed DVP for review and approval to move forward with the testing. Once supplier testing is completed, supplier must review completed DVP with Navistar engineering. Supplier and Navistar engineer

15、ing must sign the DVP for completeness and acceptable test results to be filed to supplier quality during PPAP submission. This requirement is only applicable to new designs released after February 2018 (revision 1802). 4.4 Prime Paint Cab suspension modules shall be finished with a prime paint, or

16、corrosion resistant compound, or coating, meeting the requirements of Class IIB, IIP or IIE, per MPAPS G-9009. Color of the prime paint or coating is to match NAV 0004 black. All paints/coatings used on the suspension modules must be compatible for re-coating with topcoat paints used in Navistar Ass

17、embly Plants. 4.5 Design Requirements Supplier verification of below requirements only applies to new parts released after February 2018 (revision 1802) Requirements may be waived to new parts with minor released changes if Navistar Engineering and Navistar Supplier Quality approve. 4.5.1 Material S

18、pecifications Material(s) specified for the bracket(s) are to be identified either to Navistar MPAPS specifications or to other recognized industry standards. Material specs to be identified on supplier prints wherever is easiest for supplier, but must provide Navistar engineering a clear understand

19、ing of each components material specification while viewing supplier prints. This requirement is only applicable to new designs released after February 2018 (revision 1802). FEBRUARY 2018 Page 3 of 5 4.5.2 Clearance Air spring clearance shall be at least 0.25” from any object when air spring

21、 is at maximum design size and a minimum of 100 mm from significant heat sources identified by Navistar Engineering. Screen shots of 3D CAD showing clearance dimensions would be the minimum expected proof to show compliance with this requirement. Screen shots showing clearance can be provided by eit

22、her supplier or Navistar design responsible engineer. Physical measurements and pictures are acceptable also of build product. 4.5.3 Installed Height The installed height of the cab suspension module must meet specified height requirements for its respective cab type as installed without any adjustm

23、ents to its components. Tolerances of ride height, jounce height, rebound height, and bumper contact height (if applicable) must be included on all new prints from the implementation date of this revision forward. Supplier may submit ride height dimensional data in groups of design families or simil

24、ar designs if Navistar engineering and supplier quality agree with the grouping of PNs and data collected and applied are applicable to all PNs in the grouping/design family. 4.5.4 Durability The cab suspension module and all components thereof shall meet the vehicle durability and B10 life expectan

25、cy established for each truck vocation as follows: RH vocation; 1 200 000 miles, except shocks 250 000 miles and height control valve 500,000 miles: SS vocation; 300 000 miles, except shocks 75 000 miles and height control valve 150 000 miles: IC vocation; 350 000 miles, except shocks 100 000 miles

26、and height control valve 250 000 miles. Navistar Engineering to supply load cycle test parameters to supplier if supplier is expected to prove durability results. If no load cycle test parameters are supplied to the supplier, it is the responsibility of the Navistar Design Responsible Engineer to pr

27、ovide supplier quality with DVP Added new CAD, DRD and DVP requirements; Added new design requirements in sections 4.5.1, 4.5.2, and 4.5.3; Clarified responsibilities and accountabilities for design and testing requirements; Updated source approval and quality control requirements.
