7、 Regular (EXT-REG) and External Heavy (EXT-HVY) These rings are designed to install into grooves on shafts to provide an external shoulder for locating and retaining a part on the shaft. External E (EXT-E): These rings are designed to be installed radially on a shaft directly in a plane of the groov

Holes or (Slots): The diameter of the holes will be in accordance with the dimensional charts and sufficient material will be retained around each hole
11、 (or either side of each slot) to ensure that no permanent distortion of the ring will result when pliers are applied during assembly. Lug Filet: A filet of minimum radius equal to the maximum thickness of the ring will be formed adjacent to each lug. The filet will blend smoothly with the lug profi

Radial Flatness (Dish): Radial Flatness will be considered as the height difference occurring between the inner and outer peripheries of the ring, measured between 2 parallel plates, after the charted loads have been applied. It will not exceed the values tabulated. Dimensions in millimeters: No

17、 (ZN6A) MPAPS G-20, Class 6A. Because electroplating of rings may be subjected to hydrogen embrittlement, the electroplating of rings is not recommended. 7.0 RESTRICTED CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES: Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the
18、 requirements of the MPAPS B-50 specification. 8.0 COLOR CODING: Not recommended, except in cases where adequate insurance is needed to prevent mixing of metric parts“ with look-alike “inch parts“. The color blue is standard identifier used in some industries. This must be handled internally at indi
19、vidual plants where needed and is meant to be supplemental to the normal finish and easily deleted when the need for supplemental identification no longer exists. The supplemental blue color should not be used on finishes such as chromium bright which are specified for cosmetic purposes, or phosphat
20、e coating which causes a loss of color identity. 9.0 METHOD OF DESIGNATION: Rings will be designated on purchase orders by size, thickness, ring type and style, and part number as shown in the following examples: 20 x 1.2 Reduced Cross Section, EXT-REG Retaining Ring, Part Number 30 x 1.5 Reduced Cr
21、oss Section, INT-HVY Retaining Ring, Part Number 8 x 1 Reduced Cross Section, EXT-E Retaining Ring, Part Number 10.0 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Rings will be subjected to the following tests and meet the requirements specified. Permanent Set and Grip: Rings will grip freely on the groove diameter aft
22、er having been passed three times over a shaft (external type) or through a bore (internal type) which is the nominal diameter. The ring will be relaxed between each phase of the test. After each installation, the ring will be positioned vertically and will remain in position on the groove diameter
23、under its own weight. Provision will be made to ensure that throughout the test the ring is normal to the axis of the test shaft test line. Bend and Fracture Test: The ring will be positioned so that is is gripped across the beam section, as shown in Figure 1. The ring will then be bent through 30 d
24、egrees by repeated light hammer blows around a test block of radius equal to the maximum thickness of the ring. There will be no visible sign of fracture, cracks or similar defects. The ring will then be further bent until fracture occurs. An examination of the fracture will reveal a uniform grain s
25、tructure with no sign of laminations or other defects. The Rockwell C scale will be used on prepared samples having a thickness of 1.25 mm or

Prepared samples will be sufficiently wide to prevent bulging of the sides by the penetrator or hardness tester. Prior to shipping, vendors will elimi
