Reference: File 30-16 Keywords: Rubber Sheet; Masticated Rubber 1.0 APPLICATION This specification covers the requirements for five types of a black, masticated, rubber material rolled or pressed into flat sheets suitable f
5、or mud flaps, splash shields, and similar parts. Type I is a material composed of 60% post-industrial recyclate from the tire industry and 40% post-consumer tire recyclate. Type IA is made with 2-ply polyester/nylon fabric and is also composed of 60% post-industrial recyclate from the tire industry
6、and 40% post-consumer tire recyclate. Types II and III are materials composed of 90% post-consumer tire recyclate. Type IV is a material composed of 90-100% post-industrial recyclate from the tire industry and 0-10% post-consumer tire recyclate. Type V is a thermoplastic elastomeric material that is
7、 a blend of recycled rubber and recycled LDPE that can replace Type I in many applications but is stiffer than that material. It can also be thermo formed. In most cases, these materials may be used interchangeably but engineering should evaluate changes in the materials to ensure that the new one m
8、eets the application requirements. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the property and performance requirements, dimensional tolerances, source approval and quality control, identification and shipping, and designation on drawings. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007, all p

20、 shall be clean and free from dirt, oils, sharp edges, or defects harmful to product performance. 6.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 6.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to NAVISTAR are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. NAVISTAR will also accept TS-16949 regi
21、stration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to the Corporate Buyer upon reques
22、t. 6.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in mate
23、rial, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify Materials Engineering and Purchasing & Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samp
24、les, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change. 26、r TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the quality control manager of the using NAVISTAR plant may determine testing and reporting
27、requirements on specific products. 7.0 SHIPPING, PACKING AND IDENTIFICATION Loading, packing and identification shall be in accordance with Manufacturing Std.
