Reference: File 30-14D Keywords: Molded Polypropylene; Talc-Filled 1.0 APPLICATION This specification covers talc-filled polypropylene thermoplastic material for manufacture into finished parts by injection

4、molding, extrusion, or other molding process. Parts such as cover panels, blower wheels and arm rest reinforcements are typical applications. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the requirements for basic material properties (cell limits), molded part properties (suffixes), quality, source approval

5、and quality control. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified, the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply. 10、Gardner Impact -29 C (-20 F) Unspecified 4.2 Suffixes Suffix letters indicate material or molded part property requirements in addition to those shown in the table. The following suffixes shall be used to indicate additional required properties: 4.2.1 A -Types of Polyethylene Polymers A1 Homopolymer

11、s - to be used in parts that will not be subjected to impact at temperatures below 0 C (32 F). A2 Copolymers - to be used in parts that could be impacted at temperatures below 0 C (32 F). 4.2.2 Accelerated Weathering C1: Interior parts, which are exposed to sunlight under glass, shall be tested per

12、Method A of CEMS GT-31 for a minimum of 1200 kj. C2: Exterior parts shall be tested per Method B of CEMS GT-31 for a minimum of 3600 kj. 4.2.2.1 Required shall have no visible color change greater than E of 3. 4.2.3 D - Color Requirements D1 Pigmented part color shall be specified on the drawing per

13、 designation system in CEMS G-5. The pigment shall be evenly dispersed to insure uniform coloring throughout the part. D2 Paint color shall be specified on the drawing per designation system in CEMS G-5. Parts must be primed and painted per TMS-9008. This document is restricted and may not be sent o

15、olypropylene, Talc-Filled, Molded REVISION: F Requirements shall be noted as follows, and shall compare to finishes found in the SPI-SPE mold finish comparison kit (D-M-E Corporation). E1 No. 1 - 8000 Grit (#3 Micron Range) E2 No. 2 - 1200 Grit (#15 Micron Range) E3 No. 3 - 320 Emery Cloth E4 No. 4

16、- 280 Stone E5 No. 5 - 240 Dry blast, 127 mm at 690 kPa (5 in distance at 100 psi) E6 No. 6 - 24 Grit dry blast, 76 mm at 690 kPa (3 in distance at 100 psi) 4.2.5 F - Flame Resistance Material and parts supplied to this specification shall conform to and be certified by the supplier to meet the requ

17、irements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 302 - Flammability of Interior Materials and all requirements of TMS-9544. 4.2.6 Z - Special Requirements Special requirements shall be shown on the drawing. 5.0 QUALITY Color, texture and finish of production parts supplied must match master

18、 samples of the originally approved prototype parts on file in the Industrial Design Department at TDTC. No voids in the material, surface defects, flash, or flow patterns are permissible. 6.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 6.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to INTERNATIONAL Truck and Engi

19、ne are required to be registered to QS-9000 Quality System Requirements. INTERNATIONAL will also accept ISO 9000 or TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their c

20、ertification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to the INTERNATIONAL Corporate Buyer upon request. 6.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples which were

21、 approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in material, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify Materials Engineering at TDTC

22、 and Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the req

23、uest for change. 6.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The

D-13. 8.0 DESIGNATION ON DRAWINGS The material shall be designated in the manner shown in the following example: Talc-Filled Polypropylene, 4-7-8-7-3-5-0, C1, D1, F per TMS-7078. D1 - Color shall match NAV 0004 Black. The se

27、ven digits preceding the TMS number refer to cell limits in the table. The suffixes indicate additional material property and finishing requirement and molded part appearance requirements.
