3、authorized the use of this commercial item description as a replacement for MIL-E-15330 which is canceled in part. 1. Abstract. This description covers sleeved, fire resistant rubber expansion joints and retaining clamps identified as class B in MIL-E-15330. joint shall be defined by size as indicat

The body of the expansion joint shall be convoluted and constructed with a minimum of 3 plies of reinforcing fabric. The fabric may be nylon, polyester, o
5、r aramid. An outer ply of aluminized glass cloth fabric shall be applied for fire resistance. The retaining clamps shall be fabricated of 316 corrosion resisting steel, The end to end dimension for all sizes shall be 7 inches. The general configuration of the expansion joints and retaining clamps sh
6、all be as specified on figure 1 (A) and (B). The minimum tensile properties of the rubber used shall be 1500 pounds per
7、square inch (psi) initial and 1200 psi after aging. Elongation minimums shall be 300 percent initial and 180 percent after aging. Aging shall be accomplished by subjecting the samples to dry circulating air at 212 i 5F for a period of 70 hours. 2.3 Workmanship. Expansion joints shall be free of void
8、s, foreign inclusions, soft spots, and blisters. Retaining clamps shall be free of sharp edges. 3. Quality assurance provisions. 3.1 Proof pressure. Each expansion joint submitted for delivery shall pass a proof test to 250 psi for a period of 10 minutes. 3.2 Markinq. Each expansion joint shall have
9、 a label containing the following: (a) This specification number. (b) Manufacturers name or logo. (c) Contract number and date. (d) Expansion joint size. 4. Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify and maintain substan- tiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient charac
10、teristics of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise pr
