This description covers TFE fluorocarbon resin expansion joints having ductile iron flanges identified as class C in MIL-E-15330. joint shall be defined by size as indicated below. The TFE fluorocarbon resin molding shall be free of blow holes, molding flash, cracks, and linear indications that may impede the satisfactory function of the expansion joint. The ductile iron
7、 flanges shall be free of sharp edges. 3. Oualitv assurance provisions. 3.1 Test pressure. All expansion joints shall be proof tested to 300 pounds per square inch (psi). 3.2 Tensile strength. The TFE fluorocarbon resin shall have a tensile strength of not less than 2300 psi when tested in accordanc
8、e with ASTM D 638 with samples prepared in accordance with ASTM D 1708. 3.3 Marking. The ductile flanges shall be stamped with the following identifica- tion data: (a) This specification number. (b) Manufacturers name or logo. (c) Contract number and date. (d) Expansion joint size. 4. Contractor cer
9、tification. The contractor shall certify and maintain substan- tiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The
10、 government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 5. Reaulatorv requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law
11、94-580 to the maximum extent practicable. 6. Preservation, packaging. Dacking, labelinn. and marking.
