SCOPE This co

2、mmercial item description (CID) covers counter mounted, corrosion- resisting, air-cooled condenser type icemakerc-dispensers with water dispenser attachments. The icemaker-dispensers are intended for use in messrooms, galleys, and other areas where a continuous supply of dispensed ice and water is n

3、eeded for Naval shipboard use. 2. CLASSIFICATION Type 1: 200 pounds per day minimum Size 1: 8 pound storage bin capacity Size 2: 30 pound storage bin capacity Type 2: 525 pounds per day minimum Size 3: 25 pound storage bin capacity Size 4: 45 pound storage bin capacity Size 5: 90 pound storage bin c

4、apacity 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 3.1 Design and construction. The icemaker-dispenser shall be a completely self-contained unit, capable of making and storing ice and dispensing ice and water. The icemaker-dispenser shall have a water circulating system, electric motor, and necessary piping, wiring

5、, control, and safety devices. The icemaker-dispenser shall be totally enclosed in a structural frame and sheet metal housing with removable panels. The cabinet shall be provided with four 4-inch high stainless steel legs suitable for mounting the equipment to a countertop. 3.1.1 Exterior. The thick

6、ness of the exterior of the icemaker-dispenser shall be not less than 24-gauge stainless steel. 3.1.2 Capacities. The icemaker-dispenser shall meet the icemaking capacity requirements under the conditions listed in table I. Beneficial comments, recommendations, additions, deletions, clarifications,

10、 shall lead outside the cabinet and shall terminate in a fitting suitable for continuing the line to a vented deck drain. 3.2 Storage bin. dispenser, and shall have a thickness of not less than 24-gauge stainless steel or impact resistant plastic. The ice storage bin shall have a drain fitting in th

11、e bottom of the pan and a drain line shall be provided. The drain line shall lead outside the cabinet and shall terminate in a fitting suitable for continuing the line to a vented deck drain. The storage bin shall be provided with a stainless steel hasp and staple, suitable for a padlock. to shut of

Insulation shall be

13、 foam-in-place cellular polyurethane in accordance with ASTM C 1029. Ozone-depleting substances to propel the insulation shall not be used during manufacturing. 3.3 Refrigeration unit. the complete icemaker-dispenser. The assembled refrigeration unit shall be self-contained, wired, dehydrated, and c

14、harged with the amount and type of refrigerant and oil necessary for operation. The refrigerating system shall be fitted with a process tube as a means of recovering and adding refrigerant to the system. The compressor and compressor motor shall be of the type and size to obtain the capacities given

15、 in paragraph 3.1.3. running, motors shall be protected against damage from overloads and voltage fluctuations. The refrigeration unit shall be an integral part of When starting or 3.3.1 Refrigerant (ozone depleting substance). The refrigerant shall be in accordance with ASHRAE 15, Group A (nonflamm

16、able), be in accordance with AR1 700 (purity), and be approved by the Environmental Protection Agency under the Significant New Alternate Program. The refrigerants permitted for use, in order of preference, shall be of one of the following: R134A, R-401A, or R-401B. 3.3.2 Cooling condenser. The icem

17、aker-dispenser shall be provided with an air-cooled condenser. 3.4 Metal joints. Joints between metal surfaces which may become wet in service, as well as bolts, nuts, pins, scxews, and other fastening and fittings of metal shall be of compatible material as that being joined to preclude electrolyti

18、c or galvanic corrosion. 3.5 Electrical requirements. The unit shall operate on 115 VAC, 60 Hz, single-phase power, as defined in MIL-STD-1399, Section 300, and shall have provisions for making direct (hardwired) connections for electric power (2 conductors) and for equipment grounding (1 conductor)

The grounding resistance between any exposed metallic surfaces

20、 and the common ground point shall be not greater than 0.1 ohm. Electrical components, other than the hermetically sealed motor, shall be provided in accordance with NEMA 250, Type 13 or equivalent enclosure protection. Metal parts of electrical components and enclosures shall be inherently corrosio

21、n resistant or shall be treated and processed for corrosion resistance in accordance with IEEE Standard 45. Mercury-type float switches shall not be used. (Shipboard requirement, see 7.2) 3.6 Inclined operation. The unit shall operate satisfactorily (in accordance with the requirements of this CID)

22、with no spillage of liquid or product when test-operated for 30 seconds inclined at an angle of 15 (30“ when specified for submarines) each side of the vertical, in each of two vertical planes at right angles to each other. (Shipboard requirement, see 7.2) 3.7 Environmental suitability. The unit sha

23、ll be capable of withstanding. ships,vibration and motion. Controls, switches, moving parts, and electrical circuits shall operate under shipboard conditions without malfunction, binding, excessive looseness, or damage, when tested in accordance with MIL-STD-167/1, type I equipment. The unit shall b

24、e secured to the test machine in the same manner that it will be secured on shipboard. (Shipboard requirement, see 7.2) 3.8 Physical size limitations. The unit shall pass or shall disassemble so that it can pass through a shipboard access measuring 26 x 66 inches with 8- inch radius corners. When sp

25、ecified for submarines, the cabinet shall pass or shall disassemble so that it can pass through a 30 inch diameter submarine access. The refrigeration system shall not require disassembly to pass through access openings. (Shipboard requirement, see 7-.2) 3.9 Envelope dimensions. The unit envelope di

26、mensions shall be not greater than 24 inches wide by 29 inches deep b$ 41 inches high. 3.10 Accessibility. The unit shall be physically and visually accessible from the front for operation and for normal maintenance with tools, test equipment, and replacement parts. No special tools shall be require

27、d for access or parts replacement. 3.11 Standards compliance. The unit shall be in accordance with and certified to meet the applicable requirements of NSF 12 and UL 563. 3.12 Label plates. instruction plate, both attached to the front of the unit. The data nameplate shall contain the manufacturers name, model, serial number, date manufactured, and any other information needed to uniquely identify the unit. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Fed

31、 CID, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market, or the same product that, has been delivered to the Government for shipboard use on a previous procurement.
