9、ing Office, Washington, D. C.) 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Description. The magnetic particle clutch actuator covered by this specification operates the torpedo control surface through an appropriate linkage. Input power is supplied from the torpedo drive shaft by means of toothed pulleys and belt to two ma

10、gnetic particle clutches which derive their control power from the servoamplifier. The clutches drive a gear reduction unit and in turn an output arm through which the control surface positions are accom- plished. Incorporated in the gear reduction unit is a dual potentiometer, one section of which

A tachometer is geared to the clutch output shaft, and

12、 applies a position rate signal to the servoamplifier. 3.2 General requirements. 3.2.1 Contractor-furnished data. Data required by this specification, or by applicable documents referenced in Section 2, need not be furnished unless specified in the contract or order (see 6.2.4). 3.2.2 Preproduction

13、samples, Unless otherwise specified in the contract or order, preproduction samples of the actua- tor shall be manufactured using the methods, materials, and procedures proposed for the production. The sample will be tested as specified in Section 4 herein, and is for the pur- pose of determining, p

14、rior to production, that the contrac- tors production methods are capable of yielding items that comply with the technical requirements of the contract. 3.2.3 Materials. Unless otherwise specified in the con- tract, requisition, or order, all materials and purchased parts entering into the final ass

15、embly of the actuator shall conform strictly to the detailed requirements of this specification and applicable drawings. 3.2.3.1 Corrosion resistance. Material shall be of a corrosion resisting type or shall be suitably processed to resist corrosion. 3.2.3.2 Standard parts and commercial items. The

16、great- est practical use Shall b e made of standard Darts that are commensurate with design requirements. Such-parts shall be selected from Military Standards and Military Specifications, in that order of preference. 3.2.3.3 Hookup wire. All hookup wire used in the actua- tor shall conform to Specif

17、ication MIL-W-16878, unless otherwise specified. 3.2.3.4 Ferrous metal parts. Electrical sheet steel assemblies shall be processed by accepted commercial methods to provide protection against crrosin. corrosive-resistant ferrous metals must be used, the exposed surfaces shall be zinc plated in accor

18、dance with Specification QQ-Z-325, Type II, Class 3 (0.0002 minimum thickness). Where other non- Licensed by Information Handling ServicesMIL-A-23282B(Wep) 3.2.3.5 Aluminum alloy parts. Aluminum and aluminum alloys, if used, shall be anodized in accordance with Specification MIL-A-8625, dichromate s

19、eal, or chemically treated in accordance with Specification MIL-C-5541. 3.2.3.6 Magnesium alloy parts. Magnesium and magnesium alloys, if used, shall be treated in accordance with Specification MIL-C-13335 and given one coat of Primer, Specification MIL-P-8585, In accordance with Specification MIL-P

20、-6808. 3.2.3.7 Soldering. Only class SN60 solder, in accordance with Specification QQ-S-571, shall be used for electrical connections. Soldering processes shall not depend solely on soft solder for mechanical strength except for relatively light parts which have proved suitable in actual use. Solder

21、ing processes shall conform to requirements of Specification MIL-S-6872. 3.2.3.8 Actuator weight. The weight of the actuator shall not exceed seven pounds. 3.2.4 Finishes, coatings, construction, and dimensions. Finishes, coatings, construction, and dimensions for the actuator shall be in accordance

22、 with BUWEPS Drawing 694739. 3.2.5 Moisture, fungus, and corrosion. The actuator shall be rendered moisture, fungus, and corrosion resistant as required by BUWEPS LD 495974 and related drawings and specifications. 3.2.6 Marking. Marking shall be in accordance with BUWEPS Drawing 694739. 3.2.7 Interc

23、hangeability. Individual parts of assemblies fabricated in agreement with their applicable drawings and specifications shall be interchangeable with mating parts of the unit and other like units. If deviations greater or smaller than the tolerances shown on the drawings or speci- fications are requi

24、red for interchangeability, or if hand fitting beyond that shown on the applicable drawings is required, then changes in dimensions are necessary and revision and correction of the applicable drawings or specifications is required. The contractor shall provide himself with whatever gages are necessary to ensure that the material to which this specification applies will meet the dimension re- quirements shown on the applicable drawing. in the contract, order, or requisition, the Government

26、will furnish drawings of pertinent Navy Final Inspection Gages for guidance in the design of the contractors inspection gages. However, such procedure shall not serve to relieve the contractor of his responsibility in the design and manu- facture of such gages as may be required in the satisfactory

27、fulfillment of the contract requirements, but is intended to facilitate acceptance of all components and assemblies by Navy Final Inspection Gages. If so stipulated 3.2.9 Threads, Unless otherwise indicated, all threads shall be in accordance with National Bureau of Standards Handbook H28. The class

28、 or fit for threads shall be as specified on the applicable drawings. 3.2.10 Conflicting requirements. Conflicting require- ments arising between this specification and any specifica- tions, publications, or drawings listed herein shall be referred in writing to the procuring agency or appointed age

29、nt for interpretation, clarification, and resolution (or correction). 3.3 Performance requirements and product characteristics. The magnetic particle clutch actuator shall meet the follow- ing performance requirements and product characteristics. 3.3.1 Insulation resistance. The insulation resistanc

30、e, when measured between all pins of P40 (BUWEPS Drawing 694739) and an uninsulated metallic part of the actuator, shall be 20 megohms minimum at ambient temperature and 1 megohm minimum at the conclusion of a duty cycle, as specified in 3.3.10, with 500 plus or minus 20 volts direct current (dc) im

31、pressed across the insulation. 3.3.2 Magnetic particle clutch coils 3.3.2.1 Clutch circuit resistance, Each magnetic particle clutch circuit shall have a dc resistance of 5720 ohms plus or minus 7-1/2 percent, corrected to 25 degrees centigrade (C) (77 degrees Fahrenheit (F) when tested as in 4.5.4.

Licensed by Information Handling ServicesMIL-A-23282B (Wep) 3.3.2.2 Actuator circuit, Each actuator shall conform to the wiring diagram (BUWEPS Drawing 694739) when tested as in 4.5.4.2. 3.3.2.3 Diode. The following specifications apply to the diodes delineated on BUWEPS Drawing 694739 Sheet 2. (

33、a) Type: Silicon. (b) Peak inverse voltage: 300 volts minimum at 100 degrees C. (c) Average rectified current at 100 degrees C: 100 milliamps minimum, (d) Surge current for 10 milliseconds: 2 amps minimum. (e) Forward voltage drop, full cycle average at 100 degrees C and 100 milliamps: 1000 millivol

34、ts (mv) maximum. (f) Reverse leakage current at 100 degrees C volts reverse, full cycle average: 25 m maximum. (g) Operating temperature: minus 50 degrees plus 150 degrees C minimum. With the actuator in a horizontal posi- tion and with the clutch deenergized, there shall be no evidence of binding or tightness when the input shaft is manually rotated, when tested as in 4.5.4

36、.3.1, 3.3.3.2 Output. With the actuator in a horizontal posi- tion and with the clutch deenergized, a maximum breakaway torque of 20 pound-inches shall be required to move the out- put arm to any position within the limits of travel specified in 3.3.4, when tested as in 4.5.4.3.2. A tachometer shall be included as an integral component of the output drive, The ampl

38、itude of the tachometer output shall be proportional to the rotational speed of the output shaft. The output polarity of the tacho- meter shall be in accordance with Figure 1 of this specifi- cation and the requirements of BUWEPS Drawing 694739 Sheet 2. The tachometer shall be located so that the ou

39、tput shall not be less than 6.7 volts or more than 8.1 volts for the maxi- mum output position of the typical voltage output trace of the tachometer, Figure 1. This output voltage applies for an input pulley speed of 5700 rpm. 3.3.4.2 The following specifications apply to the tacho- meter delineated

40、 on BUWEPS Drawing 694739 Sheet 2. Permament magnet field. 2.2 to 2.8 volts per 1000 rpm with a 1000 to 1040 ohm load; 3.0 volts per 1000 rpm with no load (reference) . Output applies to clockwise and counterclockwise rot at ion. Maximum load 0.1 watt. Average load 0.04 watt. 0.04 watt output with o

41、ne reversal per second average. Ripple factor shall not exceed plus or minus 5 percent. The tachometer selected shall be capable of meeting all other requirements of this specification. 3.3.4.2.1 In a balanced current condition at input speed of 5700 plus or minus 5 percent rpm, the ripple component

42、 of the output voltage shall not exceed 80 millivolts peak-to-peak. 3.3.4.3 Output shaft. The actuator, less pack and packaging and mounted as specified in 4.4.2, shall be capable of withstanding vertical vibrations for a period of 3 hours at a frequency of 60 cycles per second (cps) and a double amplitude (peak-t

44、o-peak) of 0.016 plus or minus 0.002 inch, and thereafter shall show no damage and shall meet the performance requirements and product characteristics of this specification. The actuator, packaged and packed in accordance with Section 5, Level A, shall be subjected to the shock tests specified in 4.4.3.1. There- after, the pack shall b

47、e visually examined for structural integrity to assure safe delivery of the actuator. 3.4.3.2 Level C. The actuator, packaged and packed in accordance with Section 5, Level C, shall be subjected to the shock tests specified in 4.4.3.2. Thereafter, the actuator shall show no evidence of damage and sh

48、all meet all the performance requirements of 3.3. 3.4.4 Temperature and humidity 3.4.4.1 High temperature and humidity. The actuator, less pack and packaging, shall be capable of withstanding a temperature of plus 130 degrees F plus or minus 5 degrees F, 90 to 95 percent relative humidity, for a per

49、iod of 48 hours in accordance with the test procedures specified in 4.4.4.1, and thereafter shall show no corrosion or damage and shall meet the performance requirements and product characteristics of this specification. 3.4.4.2 Low temperature. The actuator, less pack and packaging, shall be capable of withstanding a temperature of minus 20 degrees plus or minus 5 degrees F for a period of four hours in accordance with the test procedures specified in 4.4.4.2, and thereafter shall show no corrosion or damage and shall meet the performance requirements and
