In the event of a conflict between the text of thisspecification and the references cited herein, the text of this specificationshall take precedence.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 Qualification. The adapte

12、ection of specifications and standards. Specifications and standardsfor necessary commodities and services not specified herein shall be selectedin accordance with MIL-STD-143, except as specified in 3.2.1 and 3.2.2.3.2.1 Commercial parts. Commercial parts having suitable properties may beused where

13、, on the date of invitation for bids or request for proposal, thereare no suitable standard parts. In any case, commercial utility parts, likescrews, bolts, nuts, and cotter pins having suitable properties may be used,provided:a. They can be replaced by the standard parts (AN, MS, or NAS) withoutalt

14、eration.b. The corresponding standard part numbers are referenced in the parts listand, if practicable on the contractors drawings.3.2.2 Standard parts. With the exceptions specified in 3.2.1, MS, AN, and NASstandard parts shall be used where they are suitable for the intended purpose.3.3 Materials.

15、 All materials shall be resistant to all fluids in accordancewith TT-S-735, MIL-G-5572, MIL-T-5624, and MIL-T-83133 as proven by successfulcompletion of the tests of 4.4.2.3.3.1 Metals. The portion of the adapter that supports the loads of 4.6.7shall have 40 KSI minimum yield strength. Metals shall

16、be inspected inaccordance with FED-STD-151. Alloys of magnesium and copper shall not be usedon parts that come into contact with fuel. Cadmium plating shall conform toclass 2, type II of QQ-P-416.3.3.2 Castings. Castings shall be clean, sound, and free from blowholes,porosity, cracks, or any other d

17、efects which would prevent the successfulcompletion of the tests of 4.6. The castings that support the loads of 4.6.7shall conform to MIL-C-6021, class 3, grade C.3.3.3 Dissimilar metals. Dissimilar metals in accordance with MIL-STD-889shall not be used in intimate contact unless they are protected

18、againstelectrolytic corrosion.3.3.4 Elastomers. Elastomers shall be in accordance with MIL-R-83248 orMIL-R-25988.3.3.5 Electrical conductivity. The resistance between the locking lugreference plane and the mounting surface shall be 0.010 ohms, maximum.3.4 Desire3.4.1 Interface. The adapter shall con

19、form to MS24484. When a MS29520 nozzleis secured to the adapter and opened or closed,the adapter shall open orclose, respectively. With the adapter installed in a test housing inaccordance with figure 1, the flow area around the adapter poppet when in thefull open position shall be a minimum of 4.8

All parts of the as

21、sembly shall be securely attached.Spring tension to hold parts in the assembly is not acceptable. All threadedparts shall be locked by safety wiring in accordance with MS20995, self-lockingnuts in accordance with MIL-N-25027, cotter pins, or other approved methods.Safety wire shall be installed in a

22、ccordance with MS33540. Self-locking nutsshall be used in accordance with MS33588; however, where loosening ordisengaging of a nut might result in the nut or other parts entering the fuelsystem, self-locking nuts shall not be used.3.4.3 Lubrication. The adapter shall require no lubricant.3.5 Perform

23、ance. The adapter shall be suitable for a temperature environmentas specified.a. Fuel: -55C (-67F) to +93C(+200F)b. Ambient: -55C (-67F) to +177C (+350F)The adapters shall satisfy the performance requirements when tested asspecified in section 4 herein.3.6 Interchangeability. Interchangeability shal

24、l be in accordance withMIL-I-8500.3.7 Weight. The weight of the adapter shall not exceed 1.0 pounds.3.8 Identification of product. Adapters shall be marked in accordance withMIL-STD-130. 25、on and part numberAssembly date per MIL-STD-15233.9 Workmanship. Workmanship shall be in accordance with all applicablespecifications, drawings, and quality control plans.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibilitv for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contractor purchase order, th

26、e contractor is responsible for the performance of allinspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified inthe contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any otherfacilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirementsspecified herein, unless

27、 disapproved by the Government. The Governmentreserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in thespecification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure suppliesand services conform to prescribed requirements.5Provided by IHSNot for ResaleNo reproduction or networking p

28、ermitted without license from IHS-,-,-MIL-A-25896E4.2 Classifications of inspection. The examination and testing of adaptersshall be classified as follows:a. Qualification inspection (4.4)b. Quality conformance inspection (4.5)4.3 Test conditions. Unless otherwise specified, the test conditionsspeci

29、fied herein shall apply.4.3.1 Test fluid. Fluid in accordance with MIL-G-5572, Grades 100/130 or115/145; MIL-T-5624, Grades JP-4 or JP-5; MIL-T-83133, Grade JP-8; or TT-S-735,type I shall be used for testing. Fluid conforming to P-D-680, type II (or anyfluid acceptable to the acquisition activity) m

30、ay be used, except where aspecific fluid is specified.4.3.2 Ambient temperature and pressure. All tests shall be performed with theambient and test fluid at temperatures of 60F to 9OF and at local barometricpressure.4.3.3 Test nozzle. The test nozzle used shall be an MS29520-1 nozzle.4.3.4 Test conn

31、ections. Unless otherwise specified herein, tests shall beperformed without any part (such as a cap or nozzle) being connected to theadapter locking flange (adapter inlet).4.4 Qualification inspection4.4.1 Qualification test specimens. The qualification test specimens shallconsist of four adapters,

32、two of which shall be untested and the other twowhich shall be tested by the contractor. Two complete sets of detail andassembly drawings and a test report showing results of the manufacturers testsshall be submitted with the two untested specimens. Specimens shall beidentified with the manufacturer

33、s own part number and any information requiredby the letter of authorization.4.4.1.1 Manufacturers drawings. The manufacturers drawings submitted withthe qualification test specimens shall have a cutaway section showing all partsin their normal assembled positions and shall specify part numbers of a

34、ll partsand subassemblies. The following data shall be furnished on or together withthe assembly drawing.a. Mounting dimensionsb. Overall dimensionsc. The test report submitted with the untestedqualification test specimens shall conform to MIL-STD-831 and shall include thefollowing:a. Report of all tests, graphically presented when prac

36、ticable, together witha detailed statement indicating conformance or extent of conformance with allrequirements of this specification, referring specifically to paragraphnumbers. Wherever a requirement is considered to be not applicable, the reportshould so state.b. Summary of endurance testc. Diagr

Each manufacturer listed on theQualified Products List for at least two years shall be requested to forward tothe responsible activity certification signed by a responsible official ofmanagement attesting that the listed product is still available from the li

41、stedplant, can be produced under the same conditions as originally qualified andmeets the requirements of the specification.4.5 Quality conformance inspection. Quality conformance tests shall consistof the following:a. Individual tests (4.5.1)b. Sampling tests (4.5.2)4.5.1 Individual tests. Each ada

42、pter shall be subjected to the following:a. Examination of product (4.6.1)b. Functional (quality conformance) (4.6.2)c. Actuating force (4.6.2.1)d. Leakage (quality conformance) (4.6.3)4.5.2 Sampling tests4.5.2.1 Samplings plans. One adapter shall be selected at random from each 100or fraction there

43、of produced and subjected to the burst pressure test (4.6.12)and to the strength test (4.6.7a).4.6 Testing methods4.6.1 Examination of product. The specimen shall be inspected to determinecompliance with the requirements specified herein with respect to size,material, workmanship, weight (qualificat

44、ion only), and the dimensionalrequirements of the applicable MS standards. Data shall be available todemonstrate compliance with 3.3.1. At least two tensile test samples arerequired for each heat or melt. The hardness of the parts may be used todemonstrate compliance within each heat or melt.4.6.2 F

45、unctional (quality conformance). The specimen shall be subjectedto the test specified in 4.6.4, except that when test fluid is passed throughthe specimen, the flow rate need not be of a specific value as long as thespecified pressures are used.4.6.2.1 Actuating force. A load shall be applied to the

46、surface of thespecimen poppet valve to obtain 1.438-inch poppet travel. The load requiredfor the poppet valve to obtain this travel shall be 50 pounds, maximum.4.6.3 Leakage (quality conformance). The specimen shall be subject to thetest in 4.6.5 except with liquid pressure of 90 and 240 pounds per

With the adapter installed in a test

48、housing in accordance with figure 1, a test nozzle in accordance with 4.3.3shall be inserted and locked into the specimen and the specimen sealing valveactuated five times minimum. Test fuel shall be passed through the nozzle andspecimen (nozzle-to-adapter direction) at flow rates from 100 to 600 ga

49、llonsper minute (gpm) in 5 gpm increments and a minimum entrance static pressure of60 pounds per square inch gage (psig) under flow conditions. The specimensealing valve shall be actuated to open and shut a minimum of three times atflow increments of 100 gpm from l00 to 600 gpm. There shall be no evidence ofchatter or binding.4.6.5 Leakage (qualification)a. Fuel leakage. With the poppet seated and fuel pressu
