The cloth, before bleaching, shall be No. 8 hard texture, confo
11、rming to type I of CCC-C-419. The cotton duck shall be bleached white in accordance with type v, class C of CCC-D-950. =_ *3.3.2 Tape. The tape for binding-the raw edges of the carrier shall be cotton, white (bleached), 3/4 or - 718 inch width at the option of the supplier, conforming . to type I, c
12、lass 2 of MIL-T-43566. 3.3.3 Grommets. Grommets with washers shall be brass, plain type, bright finish, conforming to type I, class 1, eize No. 1 of MIL-G-16491, 3.3.4 Thread. The thread .for gming, stitching and bartacking shall be cotton, white, bleached, conforming to V-T-276; type IB2, glazed fi
13、nish, ticket No. 16, 4 ply for needle and ticket No. 20, 4 ply for bobbin or looper. *3.4 Desiqn. The carrier shall be the U. S. Marine Corps design shown on Figure 1 consisting of a single piece of duck folded and seamed to specified size and shape. The raw edges shall be bound with cotton tape and
14、 the carrier shall be provided with grommets for attaching the pistol holster. *3.5 Patterns. Standard patterns will be furnished to the supplier by the Government. shall not be altered in any way and shall be used only as a guide for cutting the suppliers working patterns. The carriers shall be manufactured in accordance with the operations and the stitch, seam, and stitching types specifi
17、ed in Table I. *3.6.1.1 Operations. The supplier is not required to follow the exact sequence of operations as listed in Table I, but all operations specified shall be used to manufacture the carriers. *3.6.1.2 Stitches, seams, and stitchinq. The stitch, seam and stitching types specified in Table I
18、 shall conform to FED-STD-751. as specified in Table I indicates the minimum and maximum .number permit ted. “3.6.1.3 Tackinq and backstitchinq. Ends of seams and stitching shall be securely backtacked not less than 1/4 inch when not caught in other stitching. in stitching shall be backstitched not
19、less than 1/2 inch at each break. Thread tension shall be maintained so that there will be no loose stitching and that the lock will be embedded in the center of the material sewed. In accordance with 4.1 above, components and materials shall be tested in accordance with all requirements of referenced speci- fications, drawings and standards unless otherwise excluded, amended, modified or qu
38、alified in this speci- fication or applicable purchase document. *4.2.2.1 In-process inspection. Inspection shall be performed during the manufacturing of the end item to ascertain that the operations are performed as specified herein. The Government reserves the right to determine the acceptability
39、 of construction methods not performed in accordance with specified requirements for operations or subassemblies. *4.2.3 Examination of end item. The end item shall be examined for defects listed in 4.2.3.1 and 4.2.3.2. The sample unit shall be one carrier. *4.2.3.1 General defects. General defects
