Unless otherwise specified the materials used in the construction f the cabinets and the methods of application shall be in accord- ande with the material paragraph and
17、the magnetic characteristics paragraph of MIL-E-16400 (see 6.1.1). 3.3 Design and construction. 3.3.1 Drawings and sample. Similar electronic equipment cabinets have been previously manufactured by using the fabrication techniques indicated in drawings REoF2681322 and REF2683864 The Government does

19、ble for the cabinet specified herein, The contractor is encouraged to study and perform operational analyses in order to improve equipment performance and to reduce -complexity and price. For example, aluminum alloy honeycomb, cellular ex- trusions, as well as sheet metal construction may be conside
20、red for the cabinet sidewalls. The cabinet assembly need only represent the simplest design consistent with the functional and environmental requirements set forth herein. An electronic cabinet assembly will be loaned to the con- tractor as a guideline sample only (see 0.3). The contractor shall not
21、 be relieved of meeting the performance set forth in this specification re- gardless of the use of Government furnished drawings, sample, or construc- tion techniques. 3.3.2 Cabinet assembly. 3i3.2.1 The complete cabinet assembly shall consist of a basic cabinet (including front, rear, and top joini
22、ng strips), blower compartment (see 3.3.5) and a 5-inch (12.7 cm) high steel foundation. . complete list of the contents shall be included in each shipping container. 3.3.3 Dimensions. 3.3.3.1 The cabinet shall be in accordance with the dimensions shown in figure 1. 3.3.3.2 Inside vertical and horiz
23、ontal members shall not exhibit bowness in excess of 0.020 inches (0,0508 cm) in any Flane and panels shall not exceed 0.020 inches (0.0508 cm) bowness in their major plane. Out-of- squareness shall not exceed 0.05 degree for the full internal height dimension of the cabinet. The individual diagonal
24、 measurement of the cabinet front, top, bottom or sides shall not differ more than .O6 inches (0.1524 cm) from rear, bottom, top or opposite sides respectively. 3.3.4 Wei ht The total weight of a complete cabinet assembly (see 3.3.2) shall + e a minimum consistent with good engineering design practi
25、ces and shall not exceed 380 pounds (172.368 kg). 3.3.5 Blower compartment. The blower compartment shall be located at the base of the cabinet and designed to prevent the entrance of unfiltered air. The blower compartment shall contain a terminal board, bracket, and blower chassis assembly. 3.3.5.1
26、Terminal board location. Location of the board in the blower compartment shall permit easy access when the blower chassis assembly is removed. The blower hassis assembly shall consist of a chassis deck and front panel, on the chassis deck. Blowers shall operate from 115 volts Hert
30、z (Hz) + 5 percent and shall comply with the environmental, minimum performance, and general configuration requirements of MIL-B-23071/9 and the interference limits for class IC of MIL-STD-461. The blower chassis assembly shall be designed to admit the air supply through an easily removable air filt
31、er mounted in the front panel. The filter shall be the same general construction as specified in MIL-F-16552 with the exceptions that no handles will be required and filter thickness shall be 1 inch (2.54 cm). The blowers shall be installed so as to distribute the air to plenums on e1ther the right-
32、hand or left-hand side of the cabinet or any combination of right and left-hand plenums. Every effort shall be made to minimize the loss of cooling air at the blower-duct output and the cabinet-wall interface. 33、lower chassis assembly shall provide _I_t)a means for isconnecting blowers and equipment from the power sources. The front panel shall contain an air filter (see 3.3.5.2) and the fol lowing electrical devices: (a) Four power-on, single throw four pole toggle switches in accordance with MS24525-24. (
34、b) Four power-on indicating lights with red jewel, indicator light hosing style LH80/1 in accordance with MIL-L-3661/38, lens style LC21RD3 in accordance with MIL-L-3661/21, and lamp, Industry No. 6SCDC-125V or equal. accordance with !tIL-F-l9207/20. structural members and within each wall shall be

37、 per minute (scfm) (2.832 cubic meters per minute) to each of the above discharge ports. The internal faces of the cabinets shall be free of any obstructions or projections greater than ,O6 inches (0.1524 cm). to exhaust the air whfch has passed through the sidewall air plenums and electronic equipm
38、ent. The construction of the chimney shall be such that the net exhaust area for airflow is not less than the combined cross sectional area of the sidewall air supply plenums. The cabinet top and chimney shall meet the drip- proof requirements of MIL-STD-108. (c) Eight panel-mounted fuseholders type

40、m MIL-C-28794 (EC) 3.3.8 Cabinet back. The cabinet shall have a removable back panel to facilitate installation of equipment and cabling. The panel shall ex- tend from the top to the base of the cabinet. 3.3.9 Foundation, . Unless otherwise specified in the contract or order (see 6.1.1 ) , a welded
41、mild steel foundation shall be provided to support the weight of the cabinet plus 1000 pounds (453.6 kg) of equipment evenly distri buted. 3.3.10 Electrical. All internal wiring shall be provided and con- nected between the control panel, terminal board panel and the blowers. Wiring shall be type E-
42、14 in accordance with bIIL-i4-16878/4. Mating connec- tors shall be provided for all receptacles. Fuses shall not be provided. in each corner of the cabinet top. Any single eye installation shall be capable of supporting a complete cabinet (see 3.3.2), “LIFT HERE“ shall be marked adjacent to the lif
43、ting eyes. 3.3.12 Threaded devices. Threaded devices shall be in accordance with the threaded devices paragraphs of MIL-E-16400. 3.3.11 Hoisting. The cabinets shall contain a removable lifting eye 3.3.13 Thread-locking devices. Thread-locking devices shall be in accordance with the thread-locking de
44、vices paragraph of MIL-E-16400. 3.3.14 Welding. Structural welding shall be in accordance with require- ment 13 of MIL-STD-454. 3.3.15 Gaskets. Gaskets shall be .in accordance with the gasket para- graph of W.-O. 3.3.16 Safety. Safety shall be in accordance with requirement 1 of MIL-STD-454. 3.3.17
45、Salt spray. The equipment shall be capable of passing the salt spray test as specifi.ed in 4.4.8 without any visible evidence of corrosi on. 3.4 Airborne noise. With all blowers in operation, the numerical average of airborne sound power levels of three octave ban representing 500 to 2000 Hz shall n
46、ot exceed 64 decibels (dB) above 10 !I3 watts (see 4.4.5). 3.5 Shock, vibration and inclination. 3.5.1 Shock and vibration. The cabinet shall be capable of withstanding grade A, class I, medium weight, type A shock tests of MIL-S-901 and type I environmental vi bration test of MIL-STD-167 when the c
47、abinet is dummy loaded with 1000 pounds (453.6 kg) of equally distributed weight. The dummy loads shall be mounted in seven identical chassis assem- blies which are fastened to the front of the cabinet by high strength machine screws. Shear oins shall be used both in the front panel and at th
49、e back of the chassis assembly. The shear pins at the rear shall engage a horizontal tie bar which is secured to the sidewalls of the cabinet. Except at the con- nection points, the chassis assembly and load shall be 1 inch (2.54 cm) or greater from the cabinet sidewalls.
