AMENDMENT 2(SH) 11 April 1980 USED IN LIEU OF AMENDMENT 1 11 September 1961 MILITARY SPECIFICATION DECK COVERING MAGNESIA AGGREGATE MIXTURE This amendment forms a part of Military Specification HIL-D-18873B. dated 20 July 1959, and is approved for

2、 use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense. PAGE 1 I) 1.1: Delete and substitute: “1.1 Scope. This specification covers an asbestos-free, nonsparking covering for use over wood floors in ammunition box cars or ammunition vans or between the dunnage system of steel deck channel

5、sed for forming the deck covering shall consist essentially of an intimate mixture of asbestos-free dry ingredients and a gaging solution of magnesium chloride proportioned to form a covering which can be applied with a trowel. A certificate of compliance shall be required that the material is asbes

Unless otherwise Secified in the contract or purchase order, the cont

8、ractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless d

9、isapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.“ 4.2: Delete and substitute: “4.2 First article inspection.

10、 First article inspection shall consist of the tests specified in 4.5.“ * 4.2.1 and 4.2.2: Add the following new paragraphs: “4.2.1 - First article sample. Each sample shall consist of sufficient premixed dry ingredients (finish coat) and magnesium chloride flakes- to provide for the application of

11、27 square feet, approximately 1/2 inch thick (see 6.2). “4.2.2 First article inspection report. The contractor shall furnish a first article inspection report in accordance with the data ordering document included in the contract (see 6.2.2) .“ 4.3.3, in heading, delete: “at a Government laboratory.

12、“ and delete last sentence. When this specification is used in an acquisition which ncorporates a DD Form 1423, Con- tract Data Requirements List (CDRL), the data requirements iden- tified below shall be developed as specified by an approved D

16、ata Item Description (DD Form 1664) and delivered in accordance with the approved CDRL incorporated into the contract. When the pro- visions of DAR 7-104.9 (n) (2) are invoked and the DD Form 1423 is not used, the data specified below shall be delivered by the contractor in accordance with the contr
