SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification prescribes the technical conte
3、nt requirements for the preparation of separate illustrated parts breakdown (TPB) manuals and IPB figures for use in another manual. 1.2 Classification. The type of manual is a combination of the technical content (functional elements covered) and the assigned level(s) of maintenance to be covered.
4、The maintenance level(s) covered is identified by using a prefix for the applicable functional element(s), as the first part of the publication title, as prescribed in MIL-DTL-8 1927. The assigned maintenance level(s) and functional elements to be covered should be as prescribed in the contract. 2.

18、. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 General. a. Covrid ts and advertising. Copyrigk material shall not be included in any publication prepared in accordance with this specification without written permission of the copyright owner. Proprietary legends shall not be shown. The manual shall not contain advertising matt
19、er. All material prepared in accordance with this specification shail be Government property. b. Proprietary data. The Government shall have unlimited right to the data prepared under this specification. Proprietary legends are not acceptable in technical manuals. The preparing activity shall disclo

General style and format shall be as specified in MIL-DTLS 1927. 3.1.1 General arran-ement of a seuarate IPB manual. When specified in the contract, a separate IPB manual shall be prepa
23、red (see 6.2). It shall be arranged as follows: a. Front matter (see 3.2.1). b. Alphabetical index (see 3.2.2). c. Numerical index of part numbers (see 3.2.3). d. Numerical index of reference designations (see 3.2.4). e. Technical content, IPB figures (see 2.3.6). 3.1.2 Arrangement of IPB multimanua
24、l set. When a separate IPB is prepared, it may be divided into a set of manuals. Each manual of the set will be assigned a separate publication number. Each manual shall cover one or more related subjects, e.g., indexes, power plant and related systems, automatic flight controls, etc. The fist manua
25、l of the multimanual set shall be the IPB index. 3.1.2.1 IPB multhnuai set index. A manual shall be prepared containing the IPB related indexes and the IPB introduction for multimanual set. If it is anticipated that a revision of an existing IPB index or the initial issue of an IPB index exceeds reasonable size for handling (bulk is over three inches thick), a logical division of the information to be covered shall be established and the manual
28、divided into two or more volumes. The title page of each volume shall contain a continuation notice in accordance with MIL-DTL-81927. Each volume will be assigned a publication number. If possible, division of the information shall be by hctional element and the publication title shall reflect the v
29、olumes content. Each volume of the manual shall include an appropriate sub-title, e.g., Volume I, Alphabetical Index and Introduction; Volume II, Numerical Index of Part Numbers; Volume III, Numerical Index of Reference Designations, etc. 3.1.2.2 Technical content IPB manuals second and subsequent m

Division by subject(s) shall be compatible with the breakdown of the associated maintenance manual. The manuals shall be arranged in the following order: a. Front

When an existing IPB manual (after distribution of the basic issue) exceeds reasonable size for handling (b the change number only shall be placed on each c
32、hanged page in the upper left corner in normal bold type. d. Pane identification. including page numbering. Page identification is used for separate IPB manuais to reduce change impact and to permit muitiple addition of IPB figures in their proper location as required by their relationship without m
33、ajor change to the existing figure numbers on manual revision. The page number is part of the page identification system with the exception of the IPB figures. IPB figures use sequentially numbered pages for each figure and the figure numbers suffix is used to add new figures. The figure number or p
34、age identification, as applicable, shall be placed in the extreme upper right corner of the reproduction area, on the same line as the requiring activitys publication number, in very large bold type. (1) Numerical index of effective figuredpages. The pages of the index shall be identified by the wor
35、d “Page“, followed by sequentially assigned upper case letters, beginning with the letter A., e.g., Page A., Page B, Page C, etc. (2) List of Technical Publication Deficiencv Reports TDPRs) incomorated Danes. The page(s) of the list shall be identified by the acronym I TPDR“, followed by a dash (-)
36、and sequentially assigned Arabic numerals, beginning with the number one (i), e.g., “TPDR- 1, TPDR-2“. (3) Introduction papes. The pages of the introduction shall be identified by the acronym I INTRO“, followed by a dash (-) and sequentially assigned Arabic numerals, beginning with the number one (i

The pages of the index shall be identified by the word INDEX, followed by a dash (-) and sequentially assigned Arabic numerals, beginning with the number one (i), e.g., “INDEX-1, INDEX-2“. (5) Numerical index of art numbers and numerical ind
38、ex of reference designations pages. Numerical index pages shall be identified using a six-digit numbering system (refer to NAVAIR 00-25-700 for detailed information). The intent of this numbering system is to reduce renumbering of a substantial number of pages when adding or deleting tabular data. T
39、he index pages shall be identified by a four-digit page number, followed by a dash (-) and a two-digit sufx permitting up to 99 expansion pages. The page number is prefixed with an upper case letter used to idene the specific index: “N“ is used for the Part Number Index and “R“ is used for the Refer

IPB figure pages shall be identified using a six-digit numbering system (refer to NAVAIR 00-25-700 for detailed information). The intent of this numbering system is to reduce renumbering of a

The title block shall be placed below the marginal copy. The

(2) The title “NUMERICAL INDEX OF REFERENCE DESIGNATIONS“ shall be centered below the one point de. (3) End item nomenclature shall be centered belo
44、w the title. (4) A one-point rule shall be placed below the last line of information. c. Column heads. The reference designations column is used to establish the content. All reference designations identifed in any IPB figure contained in the m
48、anual shall be listed in reference designation sequence or in normal computer (ASCII code) Ascending Numeric/Alpha, reference designation sequence, as follows: (1) Multiple identical assemblies (same reference designations). When multiple reference designations apply to the same PB figure (e.g., cir
49、cuit card assembly), all detail part reference designations shali be listed in the rst appearance in the manual. (a) Second and subsequent items may reference the rst item to reduce unnecessary redundant entries in the index.
