28、ks. - The following interlocks shall be provided: (a) To prevent operation at reduced excitation when engine speed is in excess of approximately 130 percent of idling speed. (b) To prevent energizing couplings when shaft turning gears are engaged. (c) To prevent starting engines when engine jacking

29、gear is engaged. (d) To prevent energizing couplings at any time on engines that are running in opposite directions. When one or more engines are on group control, individual control of other engine(s) shall be possible, but the respective electric coupling control shall be inoperative. The electric

30、 coupling control lever shall be operative only when aii engines are on individual control. (e) To prevent operation of engines and couplings by individual or group control at the console when engines are being controlled locally except that there shall be an emergency cut out at “C” engines for de-

31、energizing couplings of “A and “B” engines. (f) Other interlocks as necessary to prevent maloperation and promote safety. - 5 I. (h) The engine reversing mechanism shall be provided with an inter- lock which will prevent fuel injection to the cylinders before the crankshaft has stopped rotating in order to prevent firing while the engine is still rotating in the wrong direction. This interlock will be effective

34、for changes in rotation both from ahead to astern and from astern to ahead. (i) On each rectifier control cubicle for electric slip couplings pro- vide an “Emergency” switch for closing the electric coupling control circuit thereby by-passing ail pneumatic interlocks. This method of coupling control

35、 to be employed when operating “A” and “B” engines locally. “3. 2.1.9.2. 2 Terminal strips. - Electric terminal strips for bottom entrance and piping connections at a common point shall be provided on each console. Console front and side panels shall be removable. Piping, fittings and joints used in

(d) Run rrC” engines and operate respective couplings locally including manual slip control, in case of loss of engine rooms No. 1 and No. 3. “3.2.1.9.2.4 Location. - Location of

42、 components, electrical circuits and source of electrical energy shall be arranged to permit operation of “A” and “B” engines in englne rooms No. 1 and No. 3 if engine rooms No. 2 and No. 4 are flooded and conversely operation of rC engines shall be possible if engine rooms No. 1 and No. 3 are flood

43、ed. ;3.2.1.9.2.5 Gage boards. - Gage boards for A” and *B” engines to be mounted at the control stand so that they are visible from local engine stations as well. Gage boards for “C” engines shall be mounted so that they are visible from the local station for the V.” engines. Gage boards to be suppl

44、ied by the the shipyard. 43. 2.1.9.2.6 Pyrometers. - Pyrometers for “A” and rrB” engines shall be mounted so that they are handy to control stand. Pyrometers for “C” engines to be located ner their local control stations. “3.2.1.9.2.7 Automatic governor booster, - The control FRI11 hclude an automat
