This specification covers K-Monel high pressure flasks with Monel end plugs for separation of impurities from oxygen in submarine oxygen generator systems, 2. The material for the flasks shall be seamless K-Monel tubes having chemical composition in accordance with QQ-N-286. flasks are to be made shall be in the hot finished, hot finis

The term “recovered materials means materials which have been collected or recovered from solid waste and reprocessed to become a source of raw materials, as opposed to virgin raw materials. interpreted to mean that the use of used or rebuilt products is allowed under this specific

26、83363 4 m 3.7 Indentations on flask. Indentations, other than those required by a manufacturer for identification of a flask during fabrication, are not permitted on the surface of the flask. Such markings may appear on the neck portion only. They shall be made with a round bottom stamp and shall be

27、 not over 1/16 inch deep (see figure 4). 3.8 WorkmanshiE. Flasks shall be free from cracks, and other injurious defects, Threads shall be smooth, properly formed and free from burrs, nicks and gouges. The label plate shall be clear and legible. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 ResDonsibilitv for

28、inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or

29、any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government, The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure supplies

30、and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 ResDonsibility for compliance. All items shall meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. Prior to flask fabrication a sample shall be taken from the pipe, billets or plate of each heat of K-Monel to be used for flask fabrication, and shall be s

37、ubjected to a chemical analysis to determine conformance to 3.1.1. Sample selection and testing shall conform to FED-STD-151. 4.4.2 pestriictive tests. The tests in 4.4.2.1 shall be performed on test opecinione cut: from the central 12-inch section of the test sample (see 4.2-2). 4.4.2.1 Tensile and

Four tensile specimens shall be cut longitu- dinally from the specified portion of the test sample (see 4.2.2), spaced 90 degrees apart: and shall be tested in accordance with ASTM E 8 to determine conformance to tensile, yield and elongation properties specified in table I. 4.4.3 Flask test
