The lead shall function and produce an indentation more than O. 010 inch deep in a steel test block when subjected to the output of Detonator Mk 59 Mod O. 3.4 Workmanship. The workmansh
、ip and finish shall be of sufficiently high grade to assure satisfactory operation consistent with the requirements of this specification. All parts used in the assembly shall be thoroughly clean and free of exoess materials, chips, and loose or splattered foreign materials. The standards of workman
、ship exhibited in any approved preproduction sample, sub- ject to any qualification stated in the Governments notice of approval, shall be determinative of the requirements of the contract relative to workmanship inso- far as not specifically covered by applicable specifications. 4. QUALITY ASSURANC
、E PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the con- tract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any commer
、cial laboratory acceptable to the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed nec- essary to assure that supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. as follows: 4.2 Classification of in
、spection. Inspection of the lead shall be classified a. Preproduction inspection (See 4.5.) b, Quality conformance inspection (See 4.6. ) 4.3 Sampling. (See 6.2.1. ) 4.3.1 Lot size. The term “lotff shall mean “inspection lot“, that is a collection of product submitted by a supplier for inspection. U
、nless otherwise specified in the contract or order, the number of product in each lot shall be ten thousand (10,000). 4.3.2 Premoduction samole, A preproduction sample of fifty (50) leads, manufactured in accordance with 3.2, shall be subjected to the quality confor- mance inspections detailed in 4.
、6. Acceptance of the preproduction sample shall be judged in accordance with MIL-STD-l05D, inspection Level II, with an AQL of 1. O. A dud (see 6.3.1) shall be cause for rejection of the preproduction sample. Further production of the primers by the supplier, prior to approval of the preproduction s

The lead shall be detonated by Detonator Mk 59 Mod O, which in turn shall be initiated by either Electric Primer Mk 137 or other suitable initiator with equal output. The desig
、n of the test holder shown in Figure 1 may be modified to ac- commodate a suitable primer used for reliable initiation of the detonator. 4.6.1.1 Lead output and functioning. This test shall be conducted using the 4.6.1.1.1 Measurement procedure. The maximum depth of indentation produced in each test
、 block shall be measured and recorded to the nearest O. O01 inch, using the dial indicator specified in 4.4. lb. The dial indicator shall be mounted over a horizontal surface plate so that the indicator stem is perpendicular to the surface plate, as shown in Figure 2. The test block shall be placed,
、 in- dented side up, in a holder so that the bottom face of the test block is approxi- mately parallel to the surface plate. The indicator tip shall be lowered to the bottom of the indentation, and the indicator dial set to zero, The test block holder shall then be moved so that the indicator tip co
、ntacts the surface of the testblock approximately 1/8 inch from the periphery of the test block. The indicator reading shall be recorded to the nearest O. O01 inch, Four readings shall be taken at approximately equidistant points near the periphery of the in- dentation. The arithmetic average of the
、 four readings shall be taken as the average depth of indentation for each test block. The average depth of indenta- tion shall be not less than O. O10 inch. 4.6.1.2 Visual examination, Visual examination shall be made on each Nonconfor- lead submitted for delivery to the procuring agency. The lead

In addition to any special marking required by the contract or order, unit packages, int
、ermediate packages, and shipping containers shall be marked in accordance with the requirements of MIL-STD-129, 49 CFR Part 71 to 78, and LD 275960. 5.4 Lead data cards. Five (5) cards, 3 inches by 5 inches, made from commercial white cardboard, printed as shown in Figure 3, shall be filled out for
、eachlot of leads, and shall be distributed as follows: a. Two cards shall accompany the shipping ticket. b. Two cards shall be forwarded to the procuring activity. c. One card shall be placed in each packing container. 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended use and description. -6.1.1 Intended use. The lead is inten
、ded for use in the motor separation and airframe separation explosive blocks of a rocket-propelled missile. 6.1.2 Description, The lead is designed to be reliably initiated by Deton- ator Mk 59 Mod O and to yield a highly brisant output. The lead is approximately O. 161 inch in diameter by O. 380 in
