This specification covers the requirements applicable to the design and construction of centrifugal pumps for main condenser circulating water service on board Naval ships. 1.2

Pumps shall operate continuously at any point over the entire flow range and the design conditions as specified (see 6.2.1).

33、 3.2.1 Reliability. The requirements of this specification are imposed exclusively to obtain equipment of utmost reliability for the service intended. The assurance of maximum reliability shall be the paramount controlling principle in the design, fabrication, assembly, and testing of this equipment

Users of and contractors to this specification are urged to communicate to the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) any findings related to the requirements or lack of requirements of this specification whereby improvement of equipment reliability can be achieved.
