Standard samples are furnished solely for guidance and information to the contractor (see 6.3). Variation from this specification may appear in the sample, in which case the specification shall go

The first 3.3 Materials. 3.3.1 Basic material. The b
21、asic material shall be cloth, nylon bunting, conforming to type I, class A of CCC-C-476, except that the requirements and respective quality assurance provisions for matching colorfastness and finish of CCC-C-476 shall not apply. 3.3.1.1 Color. The color of the basic material, except black, shall ap
22、proximate shades conforming to the following cable numbers : Yellow: Cable No. 70068 Green: Cable No. 70168 Red: Cable No. 70179 Blue : Cable No. 70209 White : Cahle No. 70001 The colors of the basic fluorescent material, except black and white, shall be obtained by the use of fluorescent dyes. The
23、use of fluorescent brightener is required for the white material and may be used for other colors with contracting officer approval. The fluorescent dyes and brighteners shall be those formulations adaptable to nylon cloth and shall permit high visibility during poor daylight conditions and good flu
24、orescent emission under ultraviolet excitation. 25、ection 4, Table I. 3.3.2 Grommet reinforcement patches. The triangluar patches shall consist of a single ply of cloth, nylon duck, 7.25-ounce per square yard maximum, conforming to type III of MIL-C-7219, covered on the outside with basic material. The size of the reinforcement patches shall be show
26、n in Figure 1. 3.3.3 Bindins. Binding for the raw edges of the panels and for the raw edges of the wind holes shall be cloth, nylon, duck, 7.25-ounce per square yard maximum, olive green shade No. 106, conforming to type III of MIL-C-7219. Binding shall be cut 3-1/2 + 1/8 inches wide for edges of th
27、e panels and 1-1/8 +1/8 inches wide for the edges of the wind holes. 3.3.4 Thread. The thread for all seaming and stitching shall be nylon, twisted soft multiple cord, or twisted bonded multicord, low elongation, size B, 2-or 3-ply, conforming to type I or type II, class 1 of V-T-295. The color of t
28、he thread shall be a close approximation of the color of the material on which it is used. The color-fastness requirements of the thread shall show IgoodII fastness to wet and dry crocking and dry cleaning. 3.3.5 Grommets and washers. Grommets and spur washers shall be brass, rolled rim type, black
29、chemical finish, conforming to type III, class 3, size No.2 of MIL-G-16491. Six grommets and washers are required for each panel marker. 3.3.6 hooks. The hooks shall be made from steel wire conforming to steel No. 1015, finish 5 of QQ-W-461, except the coating weight shall not apply. The ISt1 hooks
30、shall have a zinc finish with a minimum thickness of 0.002 inch, be 5/32 inch in diameter, and conform to the dimensions shown in Figure 1. Six hooks are required for each panel marker. 3.3.7 Label. Each panel marker shall have an identification label conforming to type IV, class 1 of DDD-L-20. The
31、content and format shall be as follows. The labels shall show fastness to laundering. Panel markers shall conform in all respects to the design and color details shown on Figures 1 through 6. All type I and II panel markers shal
33、l be in solid colors. All panel markers shall be made with wind holes. The range and debarkation panel markers shall be 6 by 6 feet and the flank panel markers shall be 12 feet long and 2-1/2 feet wide. 3.5 Construction. The construction shall conform to Figures 1 through 6 and the following. The pa
34、nel markers shall be made of single plies of basic material joined together to conform to the color and design details shown on Figures 2 through 6. The raw edges of the panel markers and wind holes shall be bound with nylon binding (see 3.3.3) as shown in Figure 1. Each panel marker shall be provid
35、ed with grommets and IlSl hooks as specified herein. 3.5.1 Stitches, seams, stitchinss. Stitch and seam types specified herein shall conform to FED-STD-751. All stitching and seaming shall be stitch type 301, 8 to 12 stitches per inch. Ends of seams and rows of stitching not caught in other seams or
36、 rows of stitching shall be backtacked not less than 1 inch. Thread breaks shall be secured by stitching back of break not less than 1 inch at each break. Thread tension shall be maintained properly so that there will be no loose stitching and the lock will be imbedded in the center of the materials
37、 sewn. All thread ends shall be trimmed. 3.5.2 Settina of qrommets and washers. Grommets and washers shall be set with all grommets placed on the face side of the panel markers. When holes are punched to receive grommets, they shall be smaller than the outside diameter of the grommet barrier so that
38、 the barrel must be forced through the hole. Grommets shall be securely clinched without cutting or otherwise damaging the material. 3.5.2.1 Location of srommets and washers. Grommets and washers shall be positioned as shown on Figure 1 and as specified herein. One grommet and washer shall be positi
39、oned at each corner of all panel markers. On type II panel markers, one grommet and washer shall be positioned not more than either of two long sides. On all other panel markers, one grommet and washer shall be positioned not more than 1/2 inch off center of either of two parallel sides. 1/2 inch of
40、f center of 3.5.2.2 Grommet reinforcement patches. Grommets and washers shall be reinforced with triangular shaped patches of nylon duck material covered on the outer side with basic material of the same color as the panel marker to which the reinforcement is sewn as shown in Figure 1. 6 Provided by

The small end of the hooks shall be inserted through the grommet and bending the ends against the body of the hook. both ends shall

44、ade of product established by this specification. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified he
45、rein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the government. The government reserves the right to perform any of the in
46、spections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items must meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. this specification shall become a part of the contra
47、ctors overall inspection system or quality program. 48、eve the contractor of the responsibility of assuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract, inspection, as part of manufacturing operations, is an acceptable practice to ascertain conformance to requirements, however, th
49、is does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to acceptance of defective material. Sampling 4.1.2 Certificate of compliance. Where certificates of compliance are permitted, the Government reserves the right to check test such items to determine the validity of the certification. 4.2 Classification of inspection.
