SCOPE 1. Scope. This specification covers the requirements for aerial liaison panel

16、ions unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Standard sample. Samples are furnished solely for guidance and information to the supplier (see 6.3). Variation from this specification may appear in the sample, in which case the specification shall govern. 3.2 First article. W

The basic material shall be cloth, nylon bunt

18、ing, conforming to type I, class A of CCC-C-476, except the requirements and respective quality assurance provisions for matching colorfastness and finish shall not apply. The finished fabric, when dyed with fluorescent dyes, shall show iigoodII fastness to wet and dry crocking and dry cleaning when

19、 tested as specified in 4.5.1.1. The finished fabric shall conform to the spectrophotometric properties specified in Table I when tested as specified in 4.6.1, In the event there is a failure of spectrophotometric properties, the alternate spectrophotometric properties shall be determined as specifi

20、ed in Table II when tested as specified in 4.6.2 and acceptance predicated upon these alternate requirements and test results. Table I. 23、3.2 Tape, cotton. The tape for the edges and for making the loops at each corner of the panel marker shall be cotton, woven, 3/4 +1/32-inch-wide, unbleached (natural), conforming to type I of MIL-T-5661, except the compatibility with dope requirement and method of test shall not apply. 3.3.3 Thread.

24、 The thread shall be cotton, unbleached, soft finish, ticket No. 50, 3-ply, conforming to type 1Al of V-T-276. 3.3.4 Fasteners, snap. The snap fasteners shall be brass, nickel plated finish, conforming to style 2, finish 3 of MIL-F-10884 and MS27980. The fastener components shall consist of a button

25、 3N, socket 6N, stud 7N, and eyelet 8N. Four sets of each type are required for each panel marker. 0 3.4 Desian. The panel markers shall conform in all respects to the design shown in Figure 1. 3.5 Construction. The construction shall conform in all respects to Figure 1 and as specified herein. 3.5.

26、1 Stitches, seams and stitchinas. Stitch and seam types specified shall conform to FED-STD-751. All stitching and seaming shall be stitch type 301, 8 to 12 stitches per inch. Ends of seams and rows of stitching not caught in other seams or rows of stitching shall be backtacked not less than 1 inch.

27、Thread breaks shall be secured by stitching back of break not less than 1 inch at each break. Thread tension shall be maintained properly so that there will be no loose stitching and the lock will be imbedded in the center of the materials sewn. All thread ends shall be trimmed. 3.5.2 Cuttina. Each

29、ity of Commission Internationale del Eclairage or International Commission on Illumination Source IiCl1. The light reflected and emitted by the fluoreacent material shall be picked up with a cylindrical mirror type apparatus and shall be evaluated spectrophotometrically with the instrument using a s

30、lit width of 0.1 millimeter. The Beckman DU or DK spectrophotometers, or equivalent, may be used as the instrument for obtaining the spectral data. The light shall be measured at wavelengths specified in Table I and expressed in terms of a percentage of the light which would be reflected from the re

31、ference standard, a freshly prepared magnesium oxide surface, under similar conditions. To minimize the effects of directional reflectance, readings at two positions shall be averaged (the original sample position and a position where the sample has been rotated through 90 degrees). Reading shall be

32、 taken on the face side of the cloth specimen backed up by three thicknesses of the cloth sample to minimize differences in cloth texture and background. 4.6.2 Alternate spectrophotometric properties. The present reflectance shall be determined for the fluorescent cloth by measuring light reflected

33、and emitted at each of the following 30 wavelengths: 422, 432, 436, 439, 444, 450, 456, 461, 462, 469, 478, 489, 495, 515, 530, 541, 544, 552, 562, 564, 573, 577, 585, 589, 600, 601, 611, 624, 627, and 646 millimicrons. The measurements at 436, 461, 544, 564, 577, 589, 600, 611, 624, and 646 millimi

34、crons shall be added together. The sum shall be multiplied by 0.098. The products shall equal iiX1l. The measurements at 422, 432, 444, 450, 456, 462, 469, 478 and 495 millimicrons shall be added together. The sum shall be multiplied by 0.118. The product shall equal 11211. The measurements at 489,

35、515, 530, 541, 552, 562, 573, 585, 601 and 627 millimicrons shall be added together. The sum shall be multiplied by 0.100. The products shall equal the percent brightness IlYil of the reflected and emitted light. Dominant wavelength and purity of light reflected and emitted by the daylight fluoresce

PACKAGING 5.1 Packaainq Packaging shall be level A or commercial as specified (see 6.2). 5.1.1 Level A. Each panel marker shall be neatly folded to appr

38、oximately 9-1/2 inches long by 7 inches wide and placed in an individual polyethylene bag measuring approximately 14 by 8 inches with a 1 inch lip along the open 8-inch dimension. The polyethylene flexible film shall be 0.0015 inch thick. Prior to or during the final heat sealing operation, excess a

39、ir within the bag shall be expelled. Each bag shall contain a label (see 5.3). 5.1.2 Commercial. Commercial packaging shall afford adequate protection against deterioration and physical damage during shipment from the supply source to the first receiving activity. The contractor may use his standard

40、 practice, provided it meets the requirements specified from commercial packing. 5.2 Packincr. Packing shall be level A, B or commercial as specified (see 6.2). 5.2.1 Level A. 5.2.1.1 Method 1. Twenty (20) panel markers, of one class only, packaged as specified in 5.1, shall be packed in a shipping

41、container with liner conforming to class-weather resistant, size No. 1A of MIL-B-17757, assembled, closed, and reinforced as specified in the appendix thereto. In addition, each container shall have the contents completely covered on the top and bottom with a sheet of 30-pound minimum basis weight k

42、raft paper conforming to grade B of UU-P-268. 5.2.1.2 Method 2. When specified (see 6.2), 12 level B shipping containers (240 panel markers) shall be packed in a shipping container conformingto class weather-resistant, size No. 4 of MIL- B-17757, assembled, closed and reinforced as specified in the

43、appendix thereto. 5.2.2 Level B. Twenty (20) panel markers, of one class only, packaged as specified in 5.1, shall be packed in a shipping container with liner, conforming to class domestic, size No. 1A of MIL-B-17757, assembled and closed as specified in the appendix thereto. The fiberboard used in

44、 fabrication of the box and liner shall be grades 275 and 200 respectively. In addition, each container shall have the contents completely covered on the top and bottom with a sheet of 30-pound minimum basis weight kraft paper conforming to grade B of UU-P-268. 14 Licensed by Information Handling Se

Panel markers, of one class only, packaged as specified in 5.1, shall be packed in a manner to insure carrier acceptance and safe delivery at destination. Containers shall be in accordance with Uniform Freight Clas

46、sification Rules or regulations of other carriers applicable to the mode of transportation. 5.3 Markincr. In addition to any special marking required by the contract or purchase order, the shipping containers shall be marked Also, in accordance with the requirements of MIL-STD-129. polyethylene bagg

47、ed packages shall have the following information printed or stamped directly on the bag or on a paper label inserted within the bag so as to permit ready identification. 48、on of a general explanatory nature that may be helpful but is not mandatory). 6.1 Intended use. The panel markers are intended for use by the Marine Corps ground forces for ground to air identification and communications, and are designed to be attached to each other by means of snap fasteners to fo

49、rm various sizes and combinations. They may be secured to the ground by means of steel pins through the corner loops. 6.2. Acuuisition recmirements. - Acquisition documents should specify the following: (a) Title, number and date of this specification. (b) Class required (see 1.2). (c) Whether first article is required (see 3.2). (d) Number of panels in first article (see 3.2). (e) Selection of applicable levels of packaging and packing (f) When level A, method 2, packing is required (see (see 5.1 and 5.2). 5.2.1.2). 6.3 Standard samples and shade samples.
