This specification establishes the requirements for an aqueous cleaning compound to be used in ultrasonic and immersion cleaning of avionics components. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 General. 22、ment, however, supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection in accordance with 4.3. 3.2 Composition. The cleaning compound sha

23、ll be a fully aqueous cleaner, containing no organic solvents. The specific composition is optional and is to be determined by the individual supplier, provided the compound conforms to the requirements specified herein. 3.2.1 Non-volatile content. The cleaning compound shall be tested for non-volat

24、ile content in accordance with ASTM-D2834 (see 4.5 and table VII). The values shall be recorded for use in conformance inspection. 3.3 Toxicity. The concentrated cleaning compound shall have no adverse effect on the health of personnel when used for its intended purpose. Questions pertinent to this

25、effect shall be referred by the contracting activity to the appropriate medical service who will act as advisor to the contracting agency. A Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) conforming to 29 CFR 1910.1200 shall be prepared and submitted in accordance with FED-STD-3 13 (see 6.4). In addition, the cl

26、eaning compound shall comply as follows: a. The compound shall be within the Toxicity Characteristic Leachate Potential (TCLP) limits when tested and listed in 40 CFR 261.24. b. The compound shall not contain any known or suspected human carcinogens as defined by the National Toxicology Programs Ann

27、ual Report on Carcinogens. i c. All surfactant

28、s contained in the cleaning compound shall be a minimum of 90 percent biodegradable when tested as specified in 4.5.1. 3.5 Corrosivity. 3.5.1 Solder corrosion. The cleaning compound shall not cause visual corrosion or a weight change in the test specimen greater than 0.04 mg/cm when tested in accord

29、ance with 4.5.2. 3.5.2 Total immersion corrosion. The cleaning compound shall cause neither visual corrosion nor a weight change of any specimen greater than that shown in table I, when tested in accordance with ASTM-F483 (see 4.5.1 and table VII). 3.6 Cleaning eficiency. When tested as specified in

30、 4.5.3, the cleaning compound shall meet or exceed the cleaning efficiency for the soils specified in table II. 3.7 m. After storage as specified in 4.5.5, the cleaning compound shall not separate, crystallize, or deteriorate and shall meet all other require

The following identification and warning label shall appear in two-inch-high bold block lettering on each product container: C

When visually examined at room temperature, the cleaning compound shall be a homogeneous liquid free of foreign matter. A faint turbidity shall b

37、e permissible. 4. VERIFICATION 4.1 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.3). b. Conformance inspection (see 4.4) 4.2 Inspection conditions. Unless otherwise specified herein, all inspections shall be

38、performed in accordance with standard conditions. 39、ctions 4.3 First article inspection. The first article inspection shall consist of all tests specified in table III. First time suppliers to this specification shall perform the first article inspections (see 6.3). Requirement paragraph 4.3.1 First article sample 4.3.1.1 Laboratory test sample. The
