The hydraulic fluid furnished under this specification shall be productsthat are authorized by the qualifying activity for listing on the appl
23、icable qualified products list(QPL) before contract award (see 4.2 and 6.4). Any change in the formulation of an approvedproduct shall require requalification.3.2 Materials . The hydraulic fluid shall consist of a synthetic hydrocarbon base stock(see 3.2.3), and additives required to meet the requir
24、ements of the finished fluid (see 3.2.4). Thehydraulic fluid shall contain no admixture of resins, soaps, gums, fatty oils, or oxidizedhydrocarbons.3.2.1 Additives .3.2.1.1 Prohibitions . Pour point depressants and viscosity index improvers are prohibited.3.2.1.2 Oxidation inhibitors . The base oil
25、shall contain phenolic-type oxidation inhibitors notto exceed 2.0 percent by weight.3.2.1.3 Anti -wear agents . Anti-wear agents may be used to enable the finished oil toconform to the lubricity requirement (see table II). The finished fluid shall contain not more than3.0 weight percent total weight

27、.2.2 Blending fluids . Blending fluids may enhance the finished fluids rubber swellcharacteristic and viscosity at -40C (see table II). When blending fluids, such as diesters, areused, their quantity shall be not greater than 33 percent by weight.3.2.3 Base stock . The synthetic hydrocarbon base of
28、the hydraulic fluid, before the additionof any other ingredient, shall conform to table I when tested in accordance with table V.TABLE I. VERIFICATION4.1 Classification of inspections . The inspection requirements specified herein are classifiedas follows:a. Qualification inspectio

The qualification inspection performed by the qualificationlaboratory (see 6.4) shall consist of a review fo
45、r approval of the submitted manufacturers testreport and item composition report and subjecting the qualification test sample to examination andtesting to determine conformance to all of the requirements specified in section 3. Thequalification test sample consists of two 1 gallon containers of the
46、finished fluid, two quarts of thebase stock without additives, two quarts of the blending fluids used, eight ounces of the anti-wearadditive, one ounce of the oxidation inhibitor and one ounce each of any additional additives usedin the finished fluid. In the event that the additives are supplied as
47、 concentrated solutions, anequivalent quantity of the solution is to be furnished. A separate qualification inspection isrequired for each base stock used. The samples are to be clearly identified (see 6.4.2).4.2.1 Requalification . Requalification shall be required when any reformulation or change
48、ismade in source of manufacture, purity, or composition of the hydraulic fluid base stock oradditives. A minor change in a qualified products formulation may be made withoutrequalification testing upon approval by the qualification activity (see 6.4).4.3 Conformance inspection . The conformance insp
49、ection shall consist of tests to verifyconformance to the following requirements: barium content, color of finished fluid, evaporation,fire point, flash point, foaming characteristics, low temperature stability, lubricity, neutralizationnumber, pour point, solid particle contamination, specific gravity at 15.6C/15.6C, viscosity(finished fluid), water content (see tables II and V).
