SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers switchboard-mounted synchr
2、osccpes which indicate phase angle between two alternating current (a.c.) power sources or show within limits their relative departure from synchronism. 1.2 Classification. In the event of a conflict between the text of this specification and the references cited herein, the text of this specifica- tion shall take precedence. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Qualification. Synchroscop
18、es furnished under this specification shall be products which are qualified for listing on the applicable qualified products list at the time set for opening of bids (see 4.4 and 6.3). 3.2 Safety. The safety requirements shall be in accordance with the requirements of MIL-E-917. 3.3 Material. Synchr
19、oscopes shall be made of the material specified herein. However, when no definite material is specified,. a material which will enable the synchroscopes to meet the performance requirements of this specifi-. cation shall be used. Acceptance or approval of any constituent material shall not be constr

Material restricted for Navy use by MIL-E-917 shall not be used in the construction
21、 of synchroscopes. 3.3.2 Recovered materials. Unless otherwise specified herein, ail equip- ment and material incorporated in the products covered by this specification shall be new and shall be fabricated using materials produced from recovered materials to the meximum extent practicable without je
22、opardizing the intended use. The term “reewered materiala“ means materials which have been collected or recovered from solid waste an4 reprocessed to becone a source of raw mater- ials, as opposed t; virgin raw materials. preted to mean that the use of ueed or rebuilt products is allowed under this

25、 with class 1, type I. Of MIL-G-3787. 3.4 Operating voltage and frequency. The synchroscope shall operate with sec. voltage between 105 and 125 volts (V) at the specified frequency under the reference conditions. as specif Fed in 4.3 . 1. 3.5 SensitLvity. The synchroscopes shall be sensitive to a di
26、fference of frequency between two arc. sources up to 1.5 Hz and be within 1 percent accuracy UP to 0.1 HZ. 3.6 - Cases. Scale markings shall indicate when one source of a.c. is synchronous with the one to be synchronized and the speed of the incom- ing source to the one with which it is being synchronized. The words “slow“ and “fast“
31、shall indicate the speed of the incoming source with the dial pointer rotating in a counterclockwise direction for the former and a clockwise direc- tion for the latter. 3.8.2 Pointer. The pointer shall be rigidly constructed and shall not become damaged or distarted when subjected to any of the tes
32、ts of this specifi- cation. 3.9 Finish. The portion of the case exposed to view from the front ef the panel shall have a light gray finish in accordance with formula no. 111, class 2 of MIL-E-15090. shall be rendered suitably resistant to corrosion before the application of the final gray finish. 33、ght reflecting trimmings shall not be used. Metal cases 3.10 Identification plates. Identification and other markfng plates shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-130. 3.11 Dielectric strength. Synchroscopes shall withstand the dielectric test specified in 4.7.2 without damage or flashover. A test volt
34、age of 1900 V root mean square (Vrms) shall be applied as follows: (a) External live parts to external shield of the case. 35、 in 4.7.3, the insu- lation resistance of synchroscopes shall be at least 20 megohms. a 3.13 Vibration. Synchroscopes shall withstand the vibration test speci- . fied in 4.7.4 without permanent change in indication greater than 1 percent of total deflection. 3.14 Moisture resistance. Synchroscopes s
36、hall operate freely following exposure to the moisture resistance test specified in 4.7.5. 3.15 Mounting. Mounting shall be in accordance with figures 1 or 2, or ANSI C39.1 as applicable. Attaching hardware shall be supplied. 3.16 Shock, When required (see 6.2.1), the synchroscopes shall be construc
37、ted to withstand the shock test specified in 4.7.6 or 4.7.6.1. 3.17 Voltage influence. A 7 percent voltage variation on both elements shall not produce a change of indication. A 1 percent voltage difference shall not change the indication by more than 2 degrees (see 4.7.7). 3.18 Overvoltage. The syn

The contractor shall provide an& maintain an inspection system-and a calibrdtion system in accordance with the da
42、ta ordering document.(see 6.2.2). 4.2 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein-are classified as follows: (a) Qualification inspection (see 4.4). (b) Comparison inspection (see 4.5). (c) Quality conformance inspection (see 4.6). 4.3 .Inspection conditions. 4-3.1 Re

Unless otherwise specffied, all inspections shall be performed in accordance Gith the reference conditions specified in 3.4 and as follaws: (a) Temperature: 23 f 2 degrees Celsius (OC). (b) Relative humfdity? Greater than 50 percent, 4.3.2 Thermal stability. Unless specieied here
44、in, synchroscopes shall be maintained-at the specified inspection temperature or not less than 2 hours to attain thermal stability before taking readings. -4.4 Qualification .inspection. Qualification tests shall be conducted at a laboratory satisfactory to the Navai Sea Systems Command (MAVSEA). Qu
